  • Ephesus Terrace Houses

    Terrace houses, also known as houses of the rich, are located in the ancient city of Ephesus. The 6 luxury villas in the complex give us very important information about family life in the Roman period. The oldest of these houses, which have their own heating systems and are decorated with impressive Roman mosaics and frescoes, date to the 1st century.

  • Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House)

    During the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Jesus entrusted his mother to his apostle St. John in his last words, since Jerusalem was not safe for his mother Virgin Mary anymore. John placed Mary on the top of Bulbul Mountain near Ephesus, which he considered as a safe place. It is believed that the Virgin Mary spent her last years in this house and died. The House of the Virgin Mary is now officially registered as a place of pilgrimage, with the visits of Pope Paul VI in 1967, Pope John Paul II in 1979, and Pope Benedict XVI in 2006.

    The Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, was built in the 6th century BC. The temple took its final form in the 2nd century. With its size, it was the largest pagan belief center of the period. Although we can only see the basic structure and a single column and a few ruins today, it can be visited even to experience the current atmosphere.

    The Kusadasi Castle, also known as Pigeon Island, is situated nearby to the port of Kusadasi. It is visible from your cruise ship, or you can opt to explore it independently after your tour.

  • Kusadasi Shopping Center (Pass By)

    We will pass by the Kusadasi Shopping Center, which is conveniently located a mere 5-minute walk from the port. After the tour, you will have free time to explore on your own. Your guide will indicate the shopping area for you to enjoy at your leisure post-tour.

  • Okuz Mehmet Pasa KervansarayI (Pass By)

    We will pass by the Caravanserai, situated close to the port, merely a 5-minute walk away. Following the tour, you will have the opportunity to explore the area on your own.

Great day tour!

We had a fun filled day seeing both Ephesus and Pamukkale in one day. Our guide was busra and she was very patient and did not rush us at all. (She also offered to take photos of us). Would definitely book with the tour company again

We had an incredible one-day tour to Ephesus and Pamukkale, made even more memorable thanks to our driver, Murat, and guide, Sevda. Despite the rainy December weather, they ensured we visited all the key highlights and had a seamless experience. In Ephesus, Sevda’s knowledge brought the ancient city to life as we explored landmarks like the Temple of Hadrian, Ephesus Theatre, the Library of Celsus, The Gate of Hercules, and The Odeon. Later in Pamukkale, we were amazed by the stunning travertine terraces and the ancient city of Hierapolis, including the Necropolis and Roman baths. Sevda managed the time perfectly, ensuring we could enjoy these sites while sharing fascinating historical insights. Even with a packed schedule, they found time for a quick and refreshing lunch stop, showing great professionalism and care. This tour was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Turkey. Thank you, Murat and Sevda, for making the day so enjoyable!

First-class trip to Ephesus

Our trip to Ephesus with Best Ephesus Tours was excellent. The communication with the company was good and our pick-up, from the port, was easy. Our guide, Sevda Erdem, was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the area generally as well as about Ephesus itself. Our driver, Emin, was also very friendly. The site is spectacular beyond words, and Sverda was very good at setting it in its historical context and picking out and explaining the highlights. The visit to the house of the Virgin Mary before the visit to the main site was very good planning, the house having an air of real calm and peacefulness about it, which contrasted with the hustle and bustle of the main site. Having said that, it was not too crowded on the day of our visit, which was a stroke of luck. The day was well paced, with a visit to the Temple of Artemis after the main site. Our lunch was really excellent, with many dishes we hadn’t come across before. It set us up for visits to a carpet shop and a ceramics shop, which were both interesting without any really hard sell - and we did buy some ceramics. We would have no hesitation in recommending Best Ephesus Tours to anyone.

Top-notch private tour to Ephesus. Our guide, Gonca, was super-knowledgeable about history, culture, and architecture. She was also friendly, helpful, and lively, everything we could have asked for. Our driver, Murat, was great as well -- when we stopped for the lunch buffet, he couldn't stop feeding us. We really enjoyed the outing from beginning to end, and found Best Ephesus very reliable. Murat also took us to the airport from Kusadasi, arriving right on time in a very comfortable vehicle. Would definitely use the company again.
