Highlights today will be the library of Celsus,the temple of Artemis and fruit wine tasting in Şirince.

Itinerary

  • Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House)

    We starts our tour pick up service from any hotel you stay in Izmir. If you are booing your Ephesus with us and you stay in Kusadasi, it is first pick up location which is going to depart 07:30 am and continue to Selcuk where there will be meeting with other participants. After everyone comes together tour starts with the House of Virgin Mary. House of Virgin Mary is the place where Mary may have spent her last days. Indeed, she may have come in the area together with Saint John. This place was offically declared a shrine of the Roman Catholic Church in 1986, and since then it has become a popular place of pilgrimage. Pope Paul VI visited shrine in 1967. The visit to the House (church) takes about 45 minutes and after our visit; there will be a 5 min drive to Ephesus.

  • The Temple of Artemis

    we will carry on with the visit to Temple of Artemis; which is one of the Seven Wonders of antiquity. Here, there will be good chance to shoot photos of Church of St. John and Mosque of Isa Bey from the best angle as well.

  • Ancient City of Ephesus

    Ephesus is an exceptional testimony to the cultural traditions of the Hellenistic, Roman Imperial and early Christian periods. Ephesus is an important site for Christianity; being one of the seven Churches of Revelation. Apostle Paul probably spent two and half years in Ephesus during his third missionary journey. In two hours, you will be exploring the city by walking on the marble streets, accompanied by our English speaking tour guide. In our tour, we will be seeing Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domatian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, and Latriens. The visits to Private House (so-called brothel, 'Terrace Houses’) is an optional visit for an extra 25 ₺/person and your guide should be informed before hand. After Terrace Houses, we will carry on with our exploration with Celsus Library, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theather, and Arcadine (Harbour Road).

  • Sirince Koyu

    Sirince is an old village of ‘Rum’ (Byzantine Greeks) situated on the hills of Selcuk and 7 km from Ephesus. As part of the peace treaty after Turkish National War (1919-1922), a formal exchange of Turkish and Greeks, was agreed upon and Sirince is inhabited by Turkish now. The village is popular for beautiful traditional houses and fruit flavoured wine production; and you will have a free time for some wine tasting.

Very professional and...

Very professional and friendly managing to cope with multiple people who spoken different languages, very knowledgeable and passionate about where we were and the history of the places. Was really good with places for pictures and do the wow moments when we could get great views of Ephese. Lunch was nice and a small out the way place and we go to visit a leather factory and silk weaving place which was interesting to learn about what they do in the region

Extraordinary experience of rich deep history

Our guide Mel provided an extraordinary experience thoroughly covering the history with humor. The depth of these sites astounded all in our group. We had 8 participants and we all returned happy. Even the meal was excellent. I highly recommend this tour especially if Mel is leading.

Convenient and comprehensive tour of Ephesus and Sirince

It is a convenient and comprehensive way to get around 3 major sites. As it combines Virgin Mary’s home, Ephesus, Artemis Temple, and Sirince. You certainly pay a significant premium for the convenience of being of a private tour, with a private spacious and comfortable shuttle-bus and a guide. Also this tour includes a lunch in Sirince. The lunch was over my expectations, despite the fact that I was skeptical about the setup. It turned out to be great. The tour covered all that was intended to be covered, as mentioned. However if you are looking for more historic and elaborate counts, I would say this is rather too basic.
