I was delighted to see Julia was doing the walking tour of Florence and the Academia. She led the Uffizi tour I did earlier that morning. Again she captivated us all with the history of the different places we visited and the history of the rich families of earlier Florence. The tour covered all the important places and it was not tiring. But the visit to the Academia to see David was definitely the highlight. You must see him. If you get Julia she will enthrall you for 45 minutes on how David came about, was sculpted and how he ended up in the Academia. And also showed you how Michael Angelo was a genius.
The only let down of this tour was the back room staff. The meeting point location was different depending on where you bought your ticket (I got mine through Trip Advisor) and consequently there were delays. So many people have complained about this, you would think they would do something about it. But this has nothing to do with the tours or the fabulous guide. Recommend this tour 100%. I travelled alone in Florence.
