Alcazar de la Puerta de Sevilla

Explore the architectural wonder of Alcazar. Uncover 1000 years of history in the oldest operating palace in Europe. Originally built as a Moorish fortress, the Spanish Royal's use the upper apartments while visiting. Scenes from Game of Thrones seasons 5 and 6 were filmed inside the castle walls and throughout its gorgeous gardens.

Next to the Alcazar is the Cathedral of Seville - the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world. Explore the vast interior which includes various chapels as well as burial grounds to famous Spanish Royals. It is also the burial place of Italian explorer Christopher Columbus! The tour guide Pamen was so very thoughtful, thorough, knowledgeable and accommodating. She made the day a memorable experience because we were shown so many things. Also she gave us the recommendation of a nice restaurant to have our lunch and made certain we could stop for a moment to be seated if we were tired.
