Here, you will get a chance to experience the rich native culture of the region and learn about the Tlingit warrior tribe that descends from Saanya Kwaan or the "People of the Southeast Wind". During your visit, you can observe and learn about the lifestyles, heritage, and history of the people in this community. Enjoy a scenic drive along the way to Saxman Native Village. A shout out to our tour guide, Marcus C., who was all of 16 years old - but he definitely knew his tribal history, and especially about totem poles. We learned so much about what totems represent; some of the recurring motifs, and how they are created, how long that can take, and how long they are intended to last. We also enjoyed the Tlingit dancing and song in the longhouse. Great job, Marcus!

Lee and Tamara were great hosts with information and guidance with the decoration painting. It was a good time we had. Thank you to all involved.

Our tour guide was Anthony. He was the best. If We were to do it again, we would ask for him to take us again.

We had the best tour of the totem pole village and the meanings of each. Saw the world renowned carvers and got to meet them personally. We saw bears, seals and salmon running. It was spiritual and I will never forget it. Out tour guid anthony made it the best tour on the cruise. Would highly recommend this tour and ask for Anthony throughCapr Fox tours. It's worth it.
