Overview

This journey provides the best chance for you to enjoy Hualien coastal highlights and beauty of valley in a day. The East Coast consists of a great variety of coral reefs, created an ever-moving landscape. The coastal range was formed by the solidification of andesite magma, sedimentary stone from the ocean bed and igneous rock from the Central Mountain Range. This area is geographically unique and stunning. Fish resources brought by the Black Current are the lifeblood of the east Taiwan fishing industry. It offers a great opportunity for seafood lovers. The East Rift Valley is an emerald treasure in the heart of Taiwan’s most beautiful locale. Driving Highway 9 south through the valley, one can gaze out on the most verdant agricultural vistas in the country.The jutting mountains on either side give way to a green plane patch-worked with vegetable fields and rice paddies. Snaking curls of river cut through the earth, festooning the green landscape with ribbons of blue.

  • Niou Shan Hu Ting

    Hidden Beach. You’ll also have plenty of space to take it all in at Nushan Huting, as you’re not likely to run into anybody who will disturb your reveries while you are here. Not many tourists, especially foreigners know about this place. The steep cracked winding road down from Highway 11 is certainly not tour bus friendly.

  • Baqi Gazebo

    Baqi Observation Deck is said to be the most beautiful "turning point" of the road. When driving here from Hualien City, while going through the hairpin bends, you will notice the scenery changing suddenly from the verdant mountains on both sides to the vast Pacific Ocean, with Coastal Range towering majestically.

    As one of the most famous attractions in east coast, Shitiping is known for its special geology of sea terrain including the wave-cut platforms, uplifted coral reefs, cliffs and the potholes. You can see the tropical fish in tide pools from potholes and other marine life dwell here.

  • Danongdafu Forest Park

    Blessed with a diverse natural ecology, it is suitable for watching flowers in the spring, fireflies and birds in the summer, and maples in the autumn and the winter. Throughout a year, it is charming in its way. The park is equipped with north and south circular bicycle paths, allowing visitors to immerse in phytoncide while appreciating ring-necked pheasants strolling to find food, if lucky. It is simply enjoyable to listen to bugs sing and birds chirp on a bike, in a lush green forest.

  • Guangfu Sugar Factory

    Hualien Sugar Factory is famous for producing more than 30 kinds of naturally flavored ice products. Many people who are traveling through the town of Guangfu stop here to enjoy a huge help of refreshing ice cream in a cool pavilion beside a pool filled with colorful koi carp.

  • Liyu Lake

    Liyu Lake is the largest lake in eastern Taiwan. Various activities can you enjoy in this area, such as peddal boat sailing or bicycle cycling around the lake. You can also stroll along the lakeshore walkway, appreciating the flora and fauna there. Liyu Lake scenic area is suitable for all ages, especially for the whole family.When the sun sets, clouds and mountains are reflected on the lake, and the scenery is quite beautiful.

Great day out with Sam!

We had a great day out with my two teen sons. Our guide Sam was kind, friendly and very knowledgeable. We highly recommend this tour when visiting Hualien and surrounding areas. A beautiful place.

Beautiful scenic views, relaxing drive

Alex was a great tour guide who took us to many beautiful scenic spots all along the eastern shore, and in the low mountain tropical forests. It was a very nice change of scenery from city life, and we lucked out with the perfect weather. The tour involves driving from place to place and some walking to vistas. Very relaxing trip!

Our guide Jason was one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have taken many trips to different countries and participated in many tours. Jason was hands down one of the kindest and most friendly guides I have had. His love for the region and his joy in sharing the history and culture is amazing. I found myself wishing we had more tours to book with him. He showed us things we would never have been able to experience without his aid. I highly recommend placing yourself in his cate for the day and taking any suggestions on whet to try. The traditional aboriginal food he suggested for lunch was the best food we had on our entire stay in Thailand. We will be returning and booking with Jason again for other adventures.

Best part of our trip to Taiwan

We’ve been in Taiwan 10 days and this was the best part of our trip. Sam was our guide and we couldn’t have seen most of what we saw without him. This company was also super flexible on timing and itinerary. We already went to the sugar factory so Sam worked with us to show us something else we’d enjoy. Our friends we went with decided to stay in Taipei because Taroko is closed but they regretted it. There is so much majestic natural beauty to see here. Thank you Sam!!! We will come to Hualien soon!
