  • Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa

    Catacombs of Kom al-Shoqafa, This is the most impressive of Alexandria’s ancient remains, dating from the 2nd century AD. Excavation started in 1892, and the catacombs were discovered accidentally eight years later when a donkey fell through a chamber ceiling. A long spiral staircase leads to the main hall. The stairs run down the outside of a shaft, which excavators used to transport the bodies of the dead. The staircase leads to three floors of Amazing mixed art, Unique example that display's ancient Egyptian mixed with the Greco-Roman art in one place. at the same sight you will also see some other tombs totally cut and transferred to be displayed at Kom El Shoqafa.

  • Pompey's Pillar

    Pompey’s Pillar (Serapium Oracle). Despite being Alexandria’s most famous tourist sight, Pompey’s Pillar is a disappointment. After all, it’s just a granite pillar—albeit at 88 feet, a very tall one placed on a hill surrounded by ruins. the pillar was misnamed after Pompeii's (106—48 Bc) by the Crusaders. In fact, it dates to the 3rd century AD, when i was erected in honor of the emperor Diocletian on the site of a Ptolemaic temple to Serapis. Helpful signs on the ruins name each virtually empty spot as a “pool” or “bath,” which to the untrained eye look like indistinguishable rocks, The late-model sphinxes lying around on pedestals add a little character, The most interesting element, ironically, is that from the hill you can get a glimpse inside the walled cemetery next door, as well as a view of a long and busy market street. & Corner of Amoud El Sawary.

    The Andalusian style Mosque, on which the Al-Mursi Abu Al-Abbas Mosque was built, is characterized by domes and also the abundance of columns that support the roof, and also the minaret is tall, And also the arabesque and mosaic works within the windows and doors, and therefore the ornate mihrab raised from the minbar, all of this was evident inside the Abu Al-Abbas Al-Marsa Mosque, because it contains 16 marble and granite columns, and every column is one piece octagonal in shape, ending with a crown about eight meters high, four columns Ones of traction.     Stop at the RoThe amphitheater of Alexandria was discovered by coincidence in the year 1960. When the Egyptian government was getting ready to set up one of its buildings in the area of Kom El Dekka, one of the workers found a solid column underneath the dust and sand while preparing the location engineers. Immediately, an excavation team where down the location to examine what have been found. The Roman theatre was a very important discovery in the 20th century. It was proven that the theatre was built in the 4th A.D century and was used up until the 7th century passing by the Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic eras.

I had an amazing day exploring Alexandria with Tarek! He is very warm, kind, well versed in Egyptian history and clearly passionate about the subject. As a solo woman traveler, I felt very comfortable. The itinerary he planned was fantastic and he is hands down the best guide I have had on my trip! He very graciously accommodated my last minute request to visit the Greco-Roman Museum even though it wasn’t part of the plan and I really appreciated his flexibility. It would definitely recommend him to all my friends visiting Egypt!

Mr Tarek was a great guide. Picked us up in a comfortable van on time. Understood what we liked as a group and delivered. It’s hard to engage a group that includes an active 4 year old and his elderly grandparents but Tarek delivered and kept everyone engaged. He even spoke some Russian with our Russian guests along with English and Arabic. I highly recommend to reach out to him for a customized tour experience.
