This is a bespoke private tour. I'll include any WW1 ancestry that you may have related to the tour. The Fromelles tour takes in 101 km from Ypres to Fromelles. If you have ancestry associated with this battle I will look the soldier up and integrate him into the tour This is a tour that will be forever ingrained in your memory.

  • Le Trou Aid Post Cemetery

    HAVING DRIVEN 40 MINUTES FROM IEPER we will arrive at Le Trou Aid Post. Here you will hear about the moving story of Brigadier General Pompey Elliott of the Australian 5th Division

  • VC Corner Australian Cemetery

    Here you will bare witness to the 410 unknown Australian graves from the battle of Fromelles and get a view of the battlefield from the Australian lines

  • Australian Memorial Park

    Here you will hear the story of Sgt Simon Fraser and the legend of the 'Don't forget me cobber' statue from the German lines

    30 minutes

  • Museum of the Battle of Fromelles

    Here you will see a wonderful museum dedicated to the battle of Fromelles

    1 hour

  • Pheasant Wood Military Cemetery

    Here you will hear the story of the mass grave and how DNA was used to identify the Australian soldiers buried here, then we drive for 40 minutes back to Ieper or Lille

Fantastic experience

We had a fantastic morning with Soren. He is so knowledgeable and went above and beyond to find out information about my ancestors, whose final resting place is in Fromelles and Belgium. It was a very moving tour that I feel privileged to have experienced. Thank you, Soren.

Great WWI tour with epic beers at the end

Søran met us on time at the station. We visited Fromelles, VC Corner, the war memorial and the war museum before crossing the border to Sanctuary Woods in Belgium. Particularly enjoyed the trenches and military equipment at Sanctuary Woods, not to mention the beers. Søran’s knowledge was truly exceptional and we really enjoyed his company. Would recommend to anyone, especially Aussies
