Discover one of Barcelona’s most impressive architectural feats on this 1-hour tour of Palau de la Música Catalana. Skipping the lines, head directly inside this UNESCO-listed Art Nouveau icon with an expert guide to tour its lavish interior. Learn about the building’s rich history as well as 20th-century society through a fascinating audio-visual clip, then ascend the grand staircases, marveling at the striking glass balusters and ornate detailing. Soak up the natural light in the Lluís Millet Hall before entering the Concert Hall, a lavishly decorated auditorium crowned by an eye-catching skylight.

    Choose the departure time most convenient for you, then meet your guide at the Palau de la Música Catalana in La Ribera. One of the most popular concert halls in Barcelona, the UNESCO-listed Palau de la Música Catalana is a masterpiece of Art Nouveau architecture. Head directly inside with your skip-the-line ticket, and begin your guided tour in the Rehearsal Hall of the Orfeó Catala. Learn how the foundation stone was laid here in 1905, and watch a 15-minute clip about the building’s history as well as society in the early 20th century. Next, feast your eyes on the elaborate staircases that lead up to the second floor. Study the lavish tiling that covers the underside, then peer through the unusual glass balusters that support the marble banisters as you ascend the stairs. Find yourself bathed in light as you enter the Lluís Millet Hall, which features floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the balcony colonnade of the main façade. Gaze out at the pillars that are decorated with intricate mosaics depicting flowers in a tribute to nature. Your final stop is the Concert Hall. Be overcome with awe as you step into this magnificent hall. Look around you at the massive panes of stained glass that are set in arches along the walls, then turn your attention to the room’s centerpiece: a large skylight in the shape of an inverted dome. As you tour the auditorium with your guide, learn about the Catalan architects responsible for the décor, including Eusebi Arnau, Pau Gargallo, Lluís Bru and Antoni Rigalt. The only thing that would have made this better is if we had seen a show after the tour, but none was available. This is one of those must sees, got to do's when in Barcelona - especially if you are a musician or performer of any time. It is beautiful inside and the history is quite amazing.

A place NOT to be missed!!!

Paulau de la musica is NOT to be missed!!! I booked a guided tour for 9 am & was surprised to be the only ones in the tour. So glad they didn’t canceled on us even though it was just for a family of 3. This place is amazing. So much history & detail! We appreciated Gina’s narration of every single detail to this Unesco music center. Love the recording of the pipe organ being played! After the tour, I even booked a concert just to experience the acoustic of this amazing concert hall. I’d highly recommend a guided tour & if all possible, attend a live concert in the main concert hall(there’s a smaller concert hall in the basement) to immerse yourself with the beauty & magic of this place.

Our guide Labra (?) was gracious and enthusiastic about sharing the history of the Palau de la Musica. After a brief introductory film we were given a tour of the Palau. Our guide was so informative about the art and music. This is an excellent tour. So glad we bought the guided tour.

This may have been the biggest surprise of our two week European trip. The venue was absolutely stunning and our guide, Marco, did a great job giving us its history. This was our favorite part of Barcelona!

We thoroughly enjoyed our guided tour of this gem of a building. The architecture is very interesting, we are only sorry that we were not able to listen to a concert during this stay.
