This was a small group tour with Diego as our guide. We started at Segovia where we had a walking tour that included the Roman aqueduct then 30 min to visit the castle and the church. The castle is much more impressive on the outside. Only a few rooms are finished. The cathedral was stunning. After a suckling pig lunch, back on the bus for guided tour of Valley of the Fallen and El Escorial by Diego. Diego was very knowledgable of both the sites and Spanish history and answered a million questions from the group. The combination of sites offered a tour through many centuries of Spanish history and time to appreciate the beautiful countryside. I loved that we spent far more time touring and maybe a total of 2 hours on the bus. Would absolutely do another tour with this company and Diego. A couple notes. No snacks or water on the bus so bring your own. Walking tour was about 14,000 steps and lots of stairs.
