Overview

Escape the concrete jungle, it’s time for an adventure! Get out to sea on our fine catamaran and discover the North Eastern Banks of Singapore on this 3 hour Kelong Tour. The waters around the North-eastern islands are buzzing with a different kind of charm – seamen fishing, an abundance of nature, mangrove swamps and the idyllic life of residents who live in kelongs. All these are sights that normal city dwellers do not get to experience. We will also take you up close to Pulau Ubin (the only inhabited island out of Singapore’s 63 islands) and explore it from the sea. You will be surprised to discover that the habitats surrounding this rustic island are brimming with life! Topping off the intriguing boat tour would be a visit to a kelong-restaurant, where you get to experience life on a floating fish farm. Soak in the sun, let your hair down in the wind and just breathe in the salty sea air. It will be an unforgettable mini-vacation experience!

    Learn about our neighbouring port and how it got its name. We will make a brief stop to understand the the 2 ports in Pasir Gudang and learn how close Singapore is to the Malaysia waters.

  • Pulau Ubin

    We will be cruising down the length of Pulau Ubin. Get to see a mangrove swamp up close as well as an abandoned resort. Learn about the Kelongs and what they do. Understand the concept of sustainable Fish Farming and its struggles. Get on board on a one of a kind on water restaurant. Relax to the cool sea breeze and astonishing views. Play old school games like Carrom or Jenga. Try your hand at fishing (sure catch). Extra charges apply for this activity. Get up close to a $4 Mil High Tech Fish Farm on the sea. Visit one of the closest banks between Singapore and Malaysia.

The trip was truly worth my time! highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of going. :) Robin was a very knowledgeable and genuine guide. Very happy to see kelongs with their fishermans and things that we usually don't see everyday as a city person.

A Unique Tour Out on the Waters!

An absolute treat and a wonderful evening spent on the waters of Singapore. Robin is a friendly, warm and knowledgeable guide. He answered any questions we had and we learnt a lot about the few beautiful kelongs that still exist. We ended our tour with a delicious seafood dinner, against the backdrop of a stunning sunset. Robin was so gracious and generous with his time, letting us finish our meal and soak in the sunset before heading back to shore well after the end time of the tour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique Singaporean experience.

Singapore of the past- a fishing village

We were on a boat trip to visit Singapore’s kelongs with Robin. He was very knowledgable about fish farming in Singapore and we were brought to see an original, disused kelong with stilts . Many of these original kelongs have vanished from Singapore due to abandonment of the traditional fishing methods. As we plied the Johore Sraits , passing Pulau Ubin, we were treated to sights of migratory terns, a hornbill flying over head, Long tailed macques up in the trees on Ubin and silvery ikan bilis jumping out of the water as they skimmed along the water’s surface. Dinner at Smith Marine Restaurant gave us the opportunity to see a working fish farm and to catch a beautiful sunset before heading back to land. A very unique experience that one should not miss!

We were able to see and experience a lot at a fairly pleasant pace. Our guide, Robin, was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He answered all the questions that folks in our group have for him.

A different kind of experience about Singapore

Decided to embark on a boat tour around Singapore's remaining kelongs and the other side of pulau ubin as as a family we love nature and all these Singapore. This trip gave my 8 year a lot of invaluable knowledge about Singapore - things that you cannot find in books but only when you go on a tour. The exciting part is watching other fishermen in action but this is very much dependent on your luck :)
