We had an amazing day on our war era vintage Jeep tour to the mountains about 60km from Siem Reap. This is where the stone was quarried for Angkor Wat, and for us it just made us marvel more at what it took to build the temple.
We were expertly guided by Mr Rain who provided lots of historic information and also insights into life in Cambodia. It was a very informative tour with some amazing sights such as the incredible vista from a canyon lookout, the 500+ year reclining Buddha and magnificent waterfalls. Our driver, Mr Savon did a great job driving us through the rough terrain.
At the end of the tour we were treated to a delicious restaurant lunch that had a very extensive menu - both Cambodian and Western options. We of course went for the Cambodian food and it was delicious.
We highly recommend this tour for a wonderful day out in the Siem Reap Countryside.
