I’ve done a lot of tours all around the world, and this was genuinely one of the best. Boreye spoke great English and was incredibly knowledgeable, truly an expert on Angkor Wat. But what really stood out was his intellectual curiosity. Even after guiding countless visitors, he’s still engaged, still noticing new details, still open to learning - from the site, from the people he meets, even from conversations about language. That kind of mindset made the experience feel thoughtful, personal, and alive, not just a scripted tour. I also came away with more than just temple facts, he shared stories about the history of the Cambodian people, pointed out local wildlife, and was a total wealth of information across the board. The driver was equally excellent, always right where we needed him, AC going, cold water ready. On a hot and humid day, that really mattered! Would absolutely recommend both of them! Top-notch experience!
My husband and I cruised for 7 days downstream on the mighty Mekong River from Phnom Penh to Saigon on the riverboat Toum Tiou 11 during our travels last year. This delightful small vessel is owned by the French company Croisi Europe. It has just 14 cabins to accommodate 28 passengers. There was a wide age range of passengers on our cruise, and by the end of it, we had got to know most of them. From the moment we stepped onboard, I felt at home and knew we were going to enjoy our cruise. Without exception, the staff was professional, friendly and super attentive. Our air-conditioned, wood-panelled cabin was more than adequate, with plenty of hanging and storage space. The big surprise was the en-suite. I had expected a small wash cubicle like on most trains. These cabins have a good-sized en-suite with plenty of hot water! A must for me, plus bed lights for night reading! The top deck with bar is a great area to mix, read or just relax. From this deck, one has panoramic views of the surroundings, particularly the spectacular sunrises and sunsets. What to do? As much or as little as you want; although it would be a shame to miss the interesting and varied onshore light activities and excursions on offer to explore the local culture, lifestyle and hospitality and the stunning, lush flora and fauna in the Cambodian and Vietnamese countryside. WOW, so many highlights. I enjoyed the opportunity to stroll and mix with the welcoming locals as they went about their daily lives. My very favourite excursion was exploring the natural beauty and lush wetland of Tra Su Forest in the Mekong Delta by rowing boat. Meals onboard were a choice of delicious, authentic dishes cooked with produce sourced from local markets. We enjoyed the many exotic, tasty flavours of SE Asia. Overall, this cruise was a truly wonderful experience that surpassed my expectations in every way.
We had an amazing experience with Green Era Private Tour! Our guide, Samun, was incredibly knowledgeable—he shared so many fascinating stories and historical insights about the art and temples we visited. The sites are vast and can be overwhelming to navigate on your own, so having a guide made all the difference. A special shoutout to our tuk-tuk driver as well—he was so kind and thoughtful, always ready with cold towels and chilled water after each stop, which was a lifesaver in the heat. The whole experience was well-organized, comfortable, and enriching. Highly recommend this tour if you want a deeper understanding of the temples and a more enjoyable way to explore them!
Chanra was the best tour guide! Passionate and incredibly knowledgeable, ready to share historical and cultural knowledge of the area/region, and patiently took our questions. My husband and I have visited Angkor before, but we definitely learned a lot more this time around! Chanra was able to keep all of us (3 adults and 3 kids aged 10 to 16) engaged throughout. We went for the 2 day sunset/sunrise Angkor Wat tour. Chanra was great throughout, and ensured we had enough cold water to go around too. He's also great with photos! He knows the best spots and angles to take photos, and even taught us a new way of taking pictures! Highly recommended to anyone going to visit Angkor Wat! Thanks Chanra for the wonderful experience!
Awesome guided trip around some really amazing temples and historic sites. Our guide Mr T was amazing — very knowledgeable and also very funny. He designed the itinerary to make it the best experience for us and avoid any crowds. Also our driver Titu was always waiting with cold water and the nice AC van after each temple stop. Would highly recommend, would have regretted visiting without this tour You also stop for food to recharge halfway through which gives you a much needed break.
If you’re coming to Siem Reap in Cambodia, I cannot recommend Mr Bunleat (Bun) enough! He tailored my tours to what I wanted to see the most, brought plenty of cold, bottled water and even better, cold towels that were so refreshing after wandering around the temples. He was quick to take photos of the best angles with beautiful results! Cannot recommend him enough 10 out of 10 out of 10.
The guide, Samath, was very knowledgeable and kind, and the driver, Yang, was also friendly and professional. I joined the tour as a solo traveler from Japan, and it was a truly great experience. I especially appreciated how Samath explained the history and culture of each site—it made the visit much more meaningful. The tour was well organized, and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As a solo traveler, taking a day tour of Phnom Penh with Makara was one of the best decisions I made on my trip. From the start, Makara made me feel completely at ease with his warm, friendly demeanor. He was incredibly knowledgeable and brought each stop to life with stories, historical context, and personal insights that made the experience truly meaningful. We visited key sites like the Royal Palace, the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, and local markets — and at every location, Makara offered thoughtful commentary that deepened my understanding of Cambodia’s history and culture. What impressed me most was his ability to balance sensitivity with honesty when discussing the country’s difficult past, all while staying engaging and respectful. Traveling alone, I really appreciated how attentive and personable Makara was — it felt more like spending the day with a passionate local friend than being on a guided tour. He was also flexible and happy to tailor the day based on my interests. If you’re traveling solo and want an insightful, welcoming, and enriching experience in Phnom Penh, I can’t recommend Makara highly enough. This tour was a highlight of my journey, and one I won’t forget.
I saw their post in Facebook so i bravely contact the WhatsApp number and ask many information about the service and were very happy for their service .This time we made our trip Siem Reap to Phonm pehn and i contacted them again .. The driver speak very good English , he gave us many informations towards the place that we are passing thru ,he drives carefully , very polite and very trustworthy, . He reminds us to look everything before we leave his car but at the end of the day we forgot our Laptop .. but he happily delivered it to us at no extra cost .. i gladly recommend the driver and this Co.
