Overview
You will make Green tea (Matcha) in an ancient style tea ceremony room wearing Kimono. Kimono is prepared for both males and females.
Itinerary
It is ideal to wear a kimono during the traditional tea ceremony. The best thing at Maikoya is that you can dress up and enjoy the ceremony in an authentic tea ceremony room without leaving our facility. We are the only place in Tokyo where a group of any size can get engage in various cultural activities, including tea ceremony, in a traditional setting.
*Even if you are late for your appointment, you can still enjoy wearing a kimono after the tea ceremony, but expect a possible wait.

The chance to prepare green tea while wearing a kimono and to immerse myself in part of the Japanese culture made this one of the most memorable and pleasant experiences on my trip. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. As a solo participant they were very attentive and helpful with directions and taking amazing pictures. The tea ceremony was very interesting, informative and beautiful. The host was lovely and managed to give individual attention to each person and spoke very clearly and easy to understand even for non native English speaker. The rest of the staff were also amazing, helping with the choice of kimono and updo.

Need to be able to sit/kneel on the floor. They do provide chairs but not exactly same experience. Great history and cultural experience.

Wonderful experience from start to finish.
Staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and our tea master was great. Loved the changing area for the women too, great way to get us ready and lots of time for photos!

Yuko was our hostess and everything was amazing and educational! I love that we can pick our kimono and looked so beautiful! I would def recommend this!
