    Blue Mosque, The Sultan Ahmet Mosque known as Blue Mosque because of its blue 20,000 Iznık Ceramic Tiles. It was built for Sultan Ahmet I by the architect Mehmet, has 6 towering minarets and last great mosque of the Classical period.

It was converted into a mosque in 1453 by Sultan Mehmet II The Conqueror and in to a museum by Ataturk in 1935 and it was converted into a mosque in 2020 by by Recep Tayyip Erdogan. It was largest church in the world for 1000 years.

  • Please dress appropriately when entering sacred sites. Participants are advised to wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt. Please bring a scarf to cover head.

What a wonderful experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and patient. The mosques were beautiful. The viewing area (Golden Horn) where the cable car was situated was incredible. The Grand Bazaar made shopping intimidating. lol The fashion show and hustle was the only drawback but minor. And then to end the day with an informative cruise on the Bosphorus River was the icing on the cake. If you can take one tour, this is the one to do. It's a full day tour that seems to take no time at all. Highly recommend this tour. In my top five of tours taken throughout Europe.

Being able to know the history of the Old City of Estambul and the mosques from our friend the tourguide was excellent , also the sightseeings of the Golden Horn in the Bosphorus were as good as the nice Cruise we had sailing along It!!
