If you don’t have time for the full houseboat trip with overnight stay this is a relaxing boat ride around the backwaters outside Kochi. We had an excellent lunch and our guide was lovely. Highly recommended

The peaceful trip on the water was the highlight of my visit to Cochin. Lots of birds and plants to see. We were able to go into the narrow waters of the estuary and see lots of interesting things going on. I even had a turn to pole the boat! At the end of water tour, we visited a woman who spun coconut coir into rope and made woven mats. Her demonstrations were interesting. Lunch back at the start consisted of lots of delicious local foods to try. The only downside was the trash in the water. The guide was able to share his knowledge of the area.

It’s wonderful moving through Kerala’s backwaters with two ageless boatmen and long bamboo poles. Cultural experience and delicious food on banana leaf!

We had a great time with a great guide Aditi and 2 boatmen, a couple of other nice passengers, a relaxing boat ride, lots of fascinating info and sights, and a couple of craft demonstrations in a village. We also had a wonderful and very filling veg lunch on a banana leaf. Fantastic!
