    Your half-day exploration of Bangkok's historic temples starts with the Temple of Golden Buddha, Wat Traimit. A Temple that houses the world's largest Buddha made of solid gold weighing 5.5 tons. The image had its real value hidden under the casing of plaster in the past.

    The largest temple in Thailand that houses 95 pagodas and the imposing reclining Buddha image measuring 45 by 15 meters. The temple is also well-known for being the primary school of Thai traditional massage.

  • Wat Benchamabophit (The Marble Temple)

    It is known as the Marble Temple as the Carrara marble from Italy is used to build the ordination hall (The main building). Walk around the marble temple before returning to your hotel.

Fascinating Insight

Three very different, but interesting, temples. The Golden Buddha shows a lot of solid gold in one place, but the surrounding buildings are equally fascinating. The reclining Buddha is also impressive in a completely different way, in that the figure is absolutely massive, whilst being enclosed in a hall thast is almost too small for it. The final temple has a lot of interesting decoration, artwork and wooden figures of the Buddha. Well worthwhile.

I admit I was getting tired of visiting Wats. However, this was one of our last in Bangkok and I am SO happy we saw it. Absolutely the best! One of the guards also offered to take some pictures of me with my son, when he saw we were alone. Truly not to be missed!
