When our cruise ship docked in Wellington last month, my husband and I took this tour with Zozo Travel, booked via Viator before leaving home. Mia from Zozo Travel was very helpful with the instruction on where to meet. Gary was our driver and guide for the day. He picked us up at the port and other people from several hotels. There were eight of us in the van.
We covered all the places listed on the itinerary. It was a lot of areas to cover in a limited amount of time, so we sat in a van a lot, but the scenery was beautiful. Also, despite the tour name, there was actually no “cave” visit, but a visit to Weta Cave Workshop – a souvenir shop for Lord of the Ring aficionados.
Our favorite stop was the included lunch at the Chocolate Fish Café at a beautiful seaside location. It was very crowded, but a table was set aside for our group. Each person gets a drink and a main from the menu. While the food was average, service and ambiance were great!
Gary got us back to the port in a timely manner. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Wellington!
