Explore the scenic Italian Riviera! Discover one of Italy’s most amazing destinations, the unforgettable Ligurian Coast of Cinque Terre, UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy scenic views of the 5 ingeniously constructed fishing villages on this private tour from Florence, accompanied by your own guide all day. Between the villages you will enjoy scenic train rides along the Ligurian coastline. A relaxing boat ride is also included between 2 of the villages so you can enjoy stunning views of the Cinque Terre from the water. Wander the narrow streets, admire the colourful houses or take the chance to swim in the turquoise water. A multi-course lunch paired with the aromatic, mineral wine of Cinque Terre will be served in a restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Cinque Terre remains Italy's most difficult area to cultivate due to unfriendly environmental conditions. Dive into traditional Ligurian food and local specialties, such as seafood dishes and pasta with pesto!

Itinerary

Florence

Pick you up from your accommodation in Florence at 7am. Our driver will normally be at your address at 6.45am. We will then drive to La Spezia train station which will take approximately 2 hours.

La Spezia

Your direct drive from Florence by private transportation stops in La Spezia.You will board the train at La Spezia Station heading to Cinque Terre. Depending on time, weather and other factors, your experienced guide will decide the order of the villages you visit.

Riomaggiore

The most southern of the 5 villages is Riomaggiore. The name comes from the major river that used to run through the town. Riomaggiore is famous for its small harbour, its tall, colorful houses and colourful fishing boats.

Manarola

Moving North, we have Manorola. Manarola gets its name from a large wheel (Magna Rota) that used to power the mill in the village. Manarola is famous for its tight alleyways running up into the terraces behind the colourful houses in the harbour.

Corniglia

Corniglia which gets its name from the Roman family Gens Cornelia. Is the smallest of the 5 villages and is situated 100 meters above sea-level. To get to Corniglia, you can climb the Lardarina, a 383-step pathway from the train station to the village or you can catch one of the regular buses.

Vernazza

Vernazza is unique in Cinque Terre because of the small port that was built allowing ships to land in the protected bay. Here you can visit the beautiful church of Santa Margherita in the main square, or visit the Tower of Castello Dorio, home to the most amazing view of Cinque Terre. Lunch will be arranged by your guide and will be taken between 12.00pm and 1.00pm. Lunch will include local seafood dishes and fresh pasta as well as a glass or two of local wine.

Monterosso al Mare

Fourth village to be visited. Monterosso al Mare is the largest out of the five coastal villages. The village is located on hills cultivated with lemons, vines and olives. From here, you will take a scenic boat ride to the next village Riomaggiore.

La Spezia

Once all five lands have been seen, you will take the short ride back to La Spezia train station. Depending on time, weather and other factors, your experienced guide will arrange a boat trip between two of the villages. This trip will take you out into the Ligurian Sea and offer incredible views of the five lands from the water. Please note, on rare occasions boats may not run due to conditions at sea.

Your guide for the day will drop you back to where you were picked up. Guides can drop clients back to other locations with prior notice.

Touring Cingue Terre with our (amazing) guide, Elizabeth, was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Italy. To get a guide who is not only knowledgeable about the area, as well as an incredible person, was a gift. From the moment we stepped into the car on our journey, Elizabeth was delightful!!! We loved our drive, because Elizabeth told us all about the area. We instantly felt a bond with her. When we boarded the train to Cinque Terre we felt like we had known her for years. This is something that should be acknowledged and treasured. Having traveled a great deal, this is very rarely the case. We wandered the villages, experienced the extraordinary countryside, shopped, took loads of pictures, had a perfect lunch, and enjoyed one another’s company. It was such a wonderful day. Thank you so much for putting us with Elizabeth! We will be back!!!

Our driver guide drove safely and led us to visit the places in an efficient manner. We were led to beautiful spots where great photographs were taken. We could not have this wonderful experience if not for this tour and the cheerful and knowledgeable lady guide.
