The tour was exactly as described. We were picked up at the clock tower in Walled City and proceeded to the mud tour. After the mud tour we proceeded to a beach club where the included lunch was provided. There was a pool and chairs to relax. There was also a bar. The beach was just a few steps away. The lunch was very tasty! The guides were very helpful. We really enjoyed this tour and would do it again!
Please consider these things before you go.
- Try to get off the bus first so that you can make it to the mud pit first because the line gets long
- Bring a towel
- VERY IMPORTANT: Be sure to have small denominations of Columbian pesos (4 -5,000/per person—we were told about $20K Colombian pesos total) to tip. At the volcano, locals are there to help you along the way. Someone will take your towel and shoes (5K CP)to wait for you after the volcano and lake, someone will use your phone to take pictures (5K CP), someone will give you a massage in the volcano (5K CP), someone will rinse you off in the lake (5K CP). We were told the USD conversion was $9-10 (because the location was remote) for all services. The services were very much worth the money and you have to pay or they will come on the bus to collect!
