Fantastic tour all round.
The Guides:
The guides were informative and made the trip extremely enjoyable. We had two guides, Chloe and Kenny, and we split our group between the two guides.
I was apart of Chloe’s group. She was humorous and gave great information regarding the history of the area and war, the current effect and tensions of the country’s division, the social impact and S.Korean society’s general view of the division. The guides did not go off topic or ramble at all, their talking points and topics were all interesting and relevant.
The Tour:
Each area that we visited tells an important piece of Korean history. The tour was setup very well to piece together a timeline of the Korean War then show the modern impacts and how the local communities have adapted.
One area requires some cardio, a tunnel which was built by the North to infiltrate the South, there are bench’s to rest but the tunnel is sloped and goes far underground. If you are interested in the ongoing/former conflicts of the Koreas you should not skip this tunnel.
We had plenty of time in each area to take photos, check souvenir stores, and enjoy a coffee (for the couple of areas that had a cafe) this tour didn’t feel rushed at any point; the pace of the tour was very enjoyable.
I couldn’t recommend this tour higher. If I could give 6 stars I would.
