If you want to hike, rappel down waterfalls and into caves, float the river with butterflies, jump over cliffs, and water slide in the beautiful canyon, and all of it captured in awesome photos, this tour is for you! This was my second time adventuring in Monterrey in 6 months and I could not be happier with Lyli and Leo! They know the canyon inside and out and pointed out what to look out for and how to safely conquer each spot. They were very vigilant of my skills and comfort level and lead the paths I felt safe while encouraging me to try certain spots. I am a middle aged woman traveling solo and they took care of everything including hotel pick up and drop off, new and well maintained gears that they made sure were fitted to me, and all the meals (breakfast before the hike, snack lunch in the canyon, local dinner at the village, and little treat in Santiago). I am an avid hiker and also climb rocks indoor but am not a strong swimmer. I found the adventure to be challenging but always felt safe. You do need to be in a good physical health, being able to hike and not be super fearful of heights or water. We saw some companies had 45+ guests and I was glad that I was with Lyli and Leo, never rushed or pushed beyond my comfort zone. Definitely recommend water shoes with good traction/grip but other than that you don’t need to bring much. Do bring change of clothes (to leave in the truck) and tissue paper for ladies. Towns that you start and end only have outhouses.
Cannot wait to go back again!
