Overview
You can be part of this exclusive excursion, where you will have the opportunity to walk alongside these fascinating creatures for an hour, accompanied by a specialized guide who will reveal the secrets of their life and behavior.
Our trip begins with check-in at the Ushuaia tourist dock located in the Port. From there, we will begin a bus tour to Martillo Island, along National Route No. 3, where you can marvel at the native vegetation: lenga and coihue forests, extensive peat bogs and majestic mountains. We will lose ourselves in the beauty of the forests until we reach the boarding point, where the real adventure will begin.
Once there, we will board the semi-rigid boats that will take us to the magical Martillo Island. After a navigation of approximately 15 minutes, you will enjoy a one-hour walk, exploring the colony of gentoo and Magellanic penguins with our expert guide.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Tours that coincide with Estancia Harberton's opening hours will require an entrance fee, without exception. Price to be confirmed. The Estancia is closed on Tuesdays.
Due to low availability for this tour for the following reasons: - Penguins are very sensitive to human contact, so they can only be visited by a few people a day. - There is only one penguin colony in Ushuaia - This tour is the most exclusive and requested in South America, for this reason we ask for patience for confirmations of visits
It may happen that there is no availability for the 2 pm departure but we can get availability for 7 am, however we will confirm with the passenger if he/she is willing to alter the schedule of the itinerary in case there is no availability at the 2 pm time slot.
This tour has very little availability, we will confirm availability upon receiving your reservation. We have AM or PM schedules, so when you confirm your reservation we will let you know which shift is available.
This tour will be confirmed once the agency sends the passenger's request to the penguin colony. For this reason, do not consider the reservation confirmed until you receive confirmation from the Azul Latina agency through this channel.

Literally walking among Penguins!! A dream come true experience!!!

I walked with the Penguins! Literally! It was a dream come true for me. Though Gentoos were only available to watch from afar (though we cought 1 Gentoo off-guard when it was returning to it's group from the sea, and it crossed our path right within a 1 foot distance!), their sighting itself without spending the crazy money on an Antarctica cruise was a big deal.
Only advice - if I could booked the same tour with Piratour directly (they are the only company with permission to land on Martillo Island) I could have saved a good 120 dollars!!!
Don't know if my review will be blocked for saying this, but that's a hell of a commission, Viator!

Seeing penguins in their natural habitat close and personal was an experience of a lifetime. Loved it. Gabriel, the guide, was very informative and helpful.

Very interesting trip to Isla Martillo to walk among two penguin species (Magellanic and Gentoo). You really get close to them and have to be careful not to disturb them. Good service at the cafeteria in estancia Haberton and interesting visit to the marine mammal museum. Guides could do with better English though for those who don’t speak Spanish
Tons of penguins

We were fortunate enough to take this tour with a small group of 15. We started out with a short covered zodiac ride to Gable island then spent around two hours hiking on the well marked and maintained trail with blooming plants, curious mosses and views to snow capped mountains.
At the end of the hike was a small building where a fine crew had prepared a selling of grilled tenderloin potatoes and apple cobbler. The meal started with a small king crab salad. After a leisurely lunch the boat returned and we were off to the penguin island about 10 min away. We were escorted around among the penguins for about 1 hour being ever careful to keep our distance (min 3 meters). As we were her in January, the many babies were about half feathered out as they replace the baby down.
Then a 15 min boat ride and we were back to the starting point and ready for the 90 min drive back to Ushuaia.
Such a great day

Great once in a lifetime experience! A long day that starts off with checkin, a 1.5 hour bus ride to the ranch, tour of the ranch and tea house, boat ride to penguins, seeing the penguins, then back to the ranch to see the museum and then another 1.5 hours home. Tour guides are so knowledgeable and kind!
