Overview

This is the perfect way to see Bath's iconic buildings and historic sites. Our 2 hour tour takes you through the City's oldest streets on a journey back in time to see grand Georgian architecture, Victorian public gardens, Medieval city walls, the legacy of Britain's Roman occupation before enjoying expansive views over the city from the Kennet and Avon canal. You'll also get the chance to see some of the amazing wildlife in the City including Kingfishers, Peregrine Falcons and Grey Herons. Our guides are experts in local military history and wildlife providing a unique perspective on Bath as a World Heritage City.

  • Kennet & Avon Canal (Pass By)

    We'll explain the historical significance of the canal and its wildlife as it changes through the seasons.

  • River Avon (Pass By)

    Cycling along the river into the heart of the City we'll stop for photo opportunities and explain the history of the City from the Celts to Georgian developers.

  • No. 1 Royal Crescent (Pass By)

    Cycling through the heart of the City we'll visit, stop and explain the historical significance of the Royal Crescent, Queen Square and Circus.

  • Sydney Gardens (Pass By)

    Having cycled along Great Pulteney Street we'll visit the Gardens and talk about the history of the Sydney Hotel.

A must do when you are in Bath

Fantastic way to see the city and surrounding area. We did the 3 hour Bath City & Countryside Tour with Darroch which I was hesitant to do because I really wanted to focus on the history of Bath. This tour was perfect. Darroch’s knowledge of history from Celts to the Victorian age made the tour come alive. Plus his knowledge of local flora and fauna - from local falcons to wild garlic added another aspect to seeing the natural beauty around Bath. Highly recommend

A must do when you are in Bath

Wayne was a great guide, very knowledgeable on the area and its history and a really nice guy. Bikes were good quality and easy to manage. We did the Bath countryside and city tour which took us down the lovely canal tow paths, through the mile long tunnel and back into the city to round off - a good blend for a great morning out.

Great outdoor experience in Bath

A great bike ride which included lots of towpaths and countryside as well as the city centre. Wayne was very knowledgeable about the local area and an excellent guide. Great fun - would definitely recommend as a must do activity on a trip to Bath.
