The day trip to Kulen Mountain was a wonderful experience, made even better by our excellent tour guide, Mr. Nak Chum, and our very careful driver. The scenery on the way up the mountain is beautiful, and the patient Mr. Nak gave us ample time to take photos whenever we wanted. The lower section of the waterfalls also requires 100 steps down and up, but splashing in the water was refreshing with the roar of the falls echoing all around us. I am not young anymore, and Mr. Nak was so considerate in helping me across rough terrain and on the stairs. He also was extremely knowledgable about the region's history and environment, and his sunny disposition and cheerful personality made the day even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour and this tour guide to anyone interested in the natura beauty and culture of Kulen Mountain, but be aware of fairly strenuous demands on your physical stamina.
We would like to add that since we were the only two guests on this tour, it would have been more energy-efficient for the company to have used a small sedan rather than a large 12-passenger diesal van.
