Overview

Afternoon Hamlet Excursion - UNESCO World Heritage Site Join us in a half-day’s tour where we travel up the coast road from bustling Copenhagen to Fredensborg Slot. we will travel through the beautiful North Sealand countryside to Fredensborg Slot, which translated means Peace Palace, in English. The palace was built for King Frederik IV, between 1720 and 1726. Aften we Travel to the historic city of Helsingør. There you can visit Kronborg, Hamlet’s Castle, built by King Frederik II in 1585. In Helsingør you can visit the Maritime Museum, enjoy Smørrebrød, the famous Danish open sandwich, in Culture Wharf or walk around the historic centre of Helsingør. We will then take the road back to Copenhagen and reflect on all the interesting things we have seen. Let’s Enjoy the Tour.

    See the outside of Hamlet's Castle. Have a look round the historic city of Helsingør. Visit Helsingør Cathedral.

  • Fredensborg

    Fredensborg, which means Peace Palace in English, is where the peace treaty between the Danes and the Swedes was signed and since then the two countries have never fought each other. The Palace was very popular with the Royal Families of Europe, who used to go to the palace for their holidays in the 1900s.

  • Kronborg Slot

    There's been a castle here since the 1420s, but the present Kronborg Castle dates back to 1585. Kronborg has been made famous by Shakespeare's play, Hamlet, which is performed at the castle every year.

  • Helsingoer

    THe beautiful old city of Helsingør, with its streets still on the medieval street plan. 75% of the buildings here date back to the 1500 & 1600s. St. Maria's Church dates back to the 1430s an was once part of a monastry complex. Many of the old monastic buildings are still standing and can be visited when the church is open.

Good use a quick couple of days in Copenhagen

It’s a brilliant tour. I would highly recommend it. We learnt a lot as we went along. The guide gave us plenty of time. No rushing around. Our guide & bus driver Mario was superb!! Very knowledgeable, helpful & friendly. Thank you :)

Had a wonderful trip, visiting the two countries. The bus departed from the Central Train Station on time and we had headphones guiding us throughout the whole tour. We went from Copenhagen to Helsingor and visited Hamlet's Castle, along the beautiful Danish riviera. Although the castle is huge and quite impressive, 1h:30 was enough to see it all and not rush through it too much. The entrance to the castle is not included but it's well worth. Alternatively, you can visit the Maritime Museum which is nearby or take a walk in the small port and around the castle. We then took the ferry and crossed the Baltic Sea to Sweden, then visited Lund- the Cathedral and University area and finally Malmo, the center, St Petri Church was nice as well and the 'Twist', then finally we crossed the bridge back to Copenhagen. Our driver and guide George was absolutely great, he pointed out all the needed details in order to offer everyone a nice experience and tailor it to their interests. He was polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks George for a wonderful experience!

I really enjoyed this tour as it was so diverse but I couldn't help but thing that for 125 Euros you should easily get return tickets from Copenhagen to Elsinore and Copenhagen to Lund. Alternatively car-hire might be a cheaper option particularly for a group.The toll on the bridge is a hefty 25 Euros.
