Overview

Enjoy the beautiful jungle scenery during the drive. Surf on a secluded beach and meet your new friends! We have two vehicles, a van with aircon and a super adventurous pick-up truck that both can take up to 8 people.

Walk to the main bridge in Sayulita and follow the river towards the ocean. We are located on your right side, in front of Bichos Restaurant, just before the crosspoint.

End point

This activity ends back at the meeting point.

Itinerary

We meet at our surf school where we will pick the right boards for your level, and load them up. We will drive in about 30 minutes to the best break of the day between Bucerias and Punta de Mita. Here we unload the boards and walk towards the beach. If you have booked for just the transfer the instructor will tell you where to/not to surf and you have 3hrs free to spent. If you’ve booked a surf lesson then your instructor will start with a 20-min instruction in the sand where you will learn all the basics you need. After this you will practice for 1.5 hr in the water with the instructor. He will teach you how to ride the green waves and motivate you to try it on your own. After the lesson you will have +/- 1 hour for you free to spend. After a total of 3h on the break we head back to the car and make our way back to Sayulita where we drop you off at our school. NOTE: Due to nature's unpredictability, we'll confirm the exact departure time within 24 hours before the activity, to ensure you get the best waves for your session!

Great teachers, beautiful beach!

This was so much fun! I’m a beginner, so I did not have high expectations for myself, but I surfed almost every wave I attempted thanks to an amazing instructor. We had so much fun out there and I left feeling great about it and wanting more. La Lancha was beautiful and almost completely private and the waves were perfect for beginners. It was also a fun way to connect with other travelers & locals. Friends were made, fun was had & I actually surfed pretty well! Great success, highly recommend.

Highly recommend Marea Surf School for surf trips and lessons! Miguel and his team are all so friendly and welcoming, and it truly is one of the best experiences Sayulita has to offer especially if you're a beginner like me. I had a lesson at La Lancha with Victor who is an incredible instructor - he was patient, kind, and helped build my confidence on the board. Thank you Miguel and Victor for an amazing experience!

Miguel and the crew are the absolute best! He was able to rent surfboards to me and all of my friends and then took us out on a perfect surf trip. I will 100% be going back to Marea Surf School the next time I am in Sayulita.

A wonderful surf experience

This was such a great experience. My son and I were in Sayulita for 10 days, and we previously did a surf lesson a day or so before- we happened to walk by Maria and walked in out of curiosity. They were so cool and chill, didn’t try and do an intense pressure sell or anything. We decided to do a 20 min drive to La Lancha beach and it was incredible. Victor and Ali (the instructors) were the BEST! Super patient and helpful- but also really knowledgeable. Can’t recommend them enough
