You get to have your own dedicated Driver/Guide and 'Memory Creator' for your entire tour. Enjoy a 7 hour private tour from Wellington capturing the best the Kapiti Coast has to offer. We take in the majestic vista from the top of Paekakariki Hill, visit the memorial to the American Marines of World War 2 at Queen Elizabeth Park, visit Southwards Car Museum housing a collection of over 400 vehicles, lunch at a popular Waikanae Beach restaurant, view native birdlife at Nga Manu Wildlife Centre and finish our afternoon sampling craft beer at the Tuatara Brewery.

CRUISE PASSENGERS - Please note the following important information: Pick up Wellington cruise port: We will meet you on the Port at the Independent Tour Operators Pick Up Point. Please note the Port has no shelter or facilities available this season so we recommend waiting until the first rush of visitors has gone ... through. In the case of bad weather, it will also make your disembarkation more pleasant. DO NOT catch the bus to the Wellington i-SITE. Stay at the port. Disembarkation Directions: • When you disembark, please walk past the buses to the Independent Tour Operators Pick Up Point. There will be people to direct you. • Your Kaewa Tours Guide will be there holding a sign with your name on it. • Your Kaewa Tours Guide will be wearing an orange or a yellow high vis’ vest. Wellington Railway Station: Pick-ups are from outside the front entrance on Bunny Street. Read more ▼

  • Paekakariki

    We drive up to the top of Paekakariki Hill to take in the majestic view over the Kapiti Coast, Kapiti Island, the top of the South Island and on a clear day we may see Mt Taranaki/Egmont and Mt Ruapehu.

  • US Marine Memorial in New Zealand

    We visit Camp McKay at Paekakariki where the US Marine Corps were based in World War 2 prior to heading up into the Pacific campaign.

  • Southward Car Museum

    We visit the world famous Southwards Car Museum housing a collection of over 400 vehicles, as well as three aircraft. Southwards is one of the largest private motor vehicle collections in the Southern Hemisphere.

  • Nga Manu Nature Reserve

    At Nga Manu we can view Tuataras up close, walk through open native bird aviaries and a nocturnal house where if you are lucky you may see a Kiwi or 2.

Kapiti Coast Tour

For our tour to Kapiti Coast we had Jill as our guide. She was friendly and had lots of knowledge of the area. The vehicle was comfortable for four adults, with many scenic stops. We had fabulous coffee for Morning Tea as well as a delicious lunch at the beach cafe. Jimmy the parrot at the nature reserve was a real treat. A wonderful day exploring Wellington and the coast.

Tom our guide was an exceptional person. He gave a continuous explanation as we traveled. He also gave us lots of time at the coffee and snack stops. Lunch was super. He also took many pictures that he will be sending to us, detailing the complete trip. I would recommend this tour to anyone. Richard and Delphine

Tom Collier was a wonderful tour guide. My wife and I spent a month in New Zealand in February, 2023 and booked many tours thru Trip Advisor. While we had many good tour guides, Tom stands out as the best. Friendly, punctual, knowledgeable and entertaining.
