Max has an encyclopedic knowledge of Pere Lachaise and a great sense of humor. In advance of the tour he asked if we wanted to see certain graves and he was fully accommodating. Highly recommend. A trip there on our own would have meant seeing so much less in the same amount of time. Thanks Max.

Max’s knowledge and love of the Pere-lachaise cemetery is contagious. His unique artistic eye draws your attention to lesser known graves. Classics such as Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Heloise and Abelard graves were visited and their lives detailed. Not just the events that made them famous, but the prevailing social norms, historical context and events that shaped their lives and how they were viewed in death. Max provides a fascinating insight into French history with real passion. It’s the small details that cumulatively paint a picture of a time now gone. Cannot recommend Max and this tour highly enough. As a guide he’s both professional and personable - a must do while you’re in Paris!! We had the unique experience of being there while it snowed - simply sublime!
