Alessia brought us on an amazing tour of the ancient and modern parts of Salerno. Her knowledge of the history of this city is astounding, we learned so much! If we had tried to explore the city ourselves, I'm sure we would have barely touched on any of the things she showed us, and we certainly would have missed the hidden historical gems (like the Greek and Roman columns hidden throughout old town). Our tour included a walk through the Duomo, as well as the crypt where St. Matthew's ashes are kept. It was a stunning example of Greek, Roman, Mideival, and Byzantine architecture... all in one spot! Our only regret is that we did this tour on our last day in Salerno, because she gave us many tips and reccomendations for where to visit (and eat) afterwards. She was very responsive through text, kind, courteous, and hospitable. If you plan on including Salerno in your trip along the Amalfi Coast, don't miss this tour. Grazie Mille, Alessia!
