Experience Yogyakarta in a whole new way with our unique bicycle tour led by passionate university students. Our tour takes you on a journey through parts of the city that are off the beaten path, allowing you to discover the real life of friendly locals and their culture. You will cycle along the riverside of Kalicode, a diverse rural area where you can immerse yourself in the local culture. Explore unusual heritage sites, including temples, old palaces, and hidden sultanate areas that you won't find in guidebooks. Along the way, we will stop to try local signature refreshments and learn about Javanese culture and writings from our knowledgeable road captain. Ideal for those with limited time, our tour allows you to explore the city comprehensively in just a few hours. You will be back at your hotel in time for breakfast and check-out before noon.

Enjoyable tour with moana bike tour

In November 2024, we went on a bike tour with Moana, and it was an unforgettable experience! My daughter had an amazing time, especially as the guide used fun and engaging methods to teach her about nature. As parents, we also thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We cycled through breathtaking river fields, visited the historic Selokan Mataram, and explored a village where we were warmly welcomed by the locals. Along the way, we learned how to make tempe, fed cows, and indulged in delicious traditional foods like geblek, tempe benguk, tahu bulat, and traditional jamu. The entire experience was both educational and enjoyable, and we were extremely satisfied with the Moana Bike Tour. It’s a perfect activity for families looking to create meaningful memories!

I recently joined the Hidden Gems Jogja Cycling Tour with Moana Bike Tour, and it was an incredible experience! Exploring the area around the X Code River, the Keraton, and various historical sites gave me a unique perspective on Yogyakarta’s rich culture and heritage. One of the highlights was meeting the palace assistants, known as Abdi Dalem, who were practicing for archery or local people usually called it "Jemparingan" It was fascinating to witness this traditional practice up close and learn about its significance. A huge thank you to our guide, Azhar, for his exceptional hospitality and knowledge. He took us to places I had never visited before, making the tour truly special. His enthusiasm and expertise added depth to our adventure, and I felt genuinely welcomed throughout the journey. If you’re looking to discover the hidden gems of Yogyakarta while enjoying a fun and engaging cycling experience, I highly recommend Moana Bike Tour!

Exploring Jogja with Moana!

I participated in the Moana cycling trip this time. Although it rained heavily, our guide Feeya still took us to rest at Pos Kamling and helped us learn about the culture of Java. This journey was very impressive for me. Not only did I experience heavy rain, but it also gave me the opportunity to be more than just a tourist; I was able to delve deeper into the village and experience local life. Every staff member I met in the office was very friendly. They treated each guest as their own friend. I highly recommend everyone to take the opportunity to visit Yogyakarta and experience this cycling trip!

Super fun way to learn about Indonesia and get up close and personal with Jogja

Brilliant tour with our lovely and energetic guide Lutfia. We learned a lot about life in the kampong and life in Indonesia in general, and Lutfia was really well-informed and keen to answer all our questions. You mostly cycle on quiet backstreets with a few short sections on busier roads, which were very ably marshalled by our guide. The bikes were good quality and well-maintained (helmets are provided). The Moana office is very conveniently located in the Prawirotaman area close to the Greenhost hotel. Last but not least, the snack and drink bought by Lutfia in the pasar were really delicious. Thoroughly recommend - it was one of the highlights of our trip to Indonesia.

This cycling tour is very good. Ms. Luthfia as the Tour Guide was excellent. She spoke very informatively about the hidden gems along the city and also recommended pastel to taste.
