  • Darling Harbour

    This waterside pocket of Sydney has got it all; amazing entertainment, fascinating museums, incredible wildlife and delicious dining options right on the water plus a brand-new food precinct. Darling Harbour is a fantastic family-friendly destination right in the heart of Sydney that has something for everyone. Discover one of the tall ships at the Australian National Maritime Museum. If you’re looking for something less active and more zen, head to the Chinese Garden of Friendship which is a tranquil haven.

    This is the gateway to all the wonderful things that Sydney Harbour has to offer. Circular Quay in Sydney Cove is bordered by the Sydney Opera House and Royal Botanic Garden on one side and the Sydney Harbour Bridge on the other. It’s also the main ferry terminal in Sydney, making it easy to explore one of the world’s great natural harbours. Stroll along the western side of the busy transport hub to the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia and The Rocks, where the British colony began in 1788. Great family fun

The Zoo was fabulous and walkable We got to see a platypus and several other Australian animals as well as the more traditional monkeys, apes, zebras and so on. The cruise itself was very relaxing and enjoyable.

This was an amazing zoo! Bought our tickets online from the zoo’s website before traveling to Sydney, Australia. Took the ferry from the Sydney wharf directly to the Taronga Zoo wharf. It was a short walk up to the entrance. The walk from the wharf was uphill the entire way and could be difficult with any limitations. There is also a bus that will drive you around to the other entrance to the zoo. The Taronga Zoo is world famous for a reason. It is amazing. The animals are mostly in open, natural habitats. Plan on at least 3 hours to see the zoo, but we were there for almost 5 hours including lunch at the cafe.

We took a boat across the Sydney Harbour to the Zoo. It was pleasant and smooth. The staff on the Fantasea was great, friendly, helpful, polite. The zoo is a don't miss attraction. When it came time to leave the zoo, the boat was there within 15 minutes. We had another trip across the harbour. Again, it was pleasant, quick and easy. The hardest part of the day was finding our way to the wharf and back to the hotel. It would have been nice to have been picked up at our hotel.

Was an excellent trip from circular quay. Over to the zoo. Only down side was the schedule finished a bit earlier than expected so couldn’t do as much as we wanted in the small window we had.
