Ride Shiga offers a variety of ski and snowboard lessons. In addition to standard lessons we are also offering coaching that focus on your area of interest: race/carving, freestyle, freeride(slackcountry) or moguls.

Excellent personalised lesson and piste tour

Ride Shiga were absolutely great. I had two "group" lessons with Genado, a lovely Argentinian instructor. And in the end...I was the only one in the "group"! Two lots of three great hours during which not only did he help me massively with my skiing, working with me through lots of good exercises and drills, and also just generally building my confidence up to and including doing a black run, but he also took us over quite a wide ranging set of lifts, gondolas and runs so I got a tour of the mountain also. Highly recommend them for lessons. Their management was also very helpful and communicative when I made the booking for the second lesson in the last minute.

Loved the private snowboard lesson

Great private snowboard lesson with Ivan. Booking for the lesson was easy and great communication using WhatsApp by Jan coordinating time and meeting point. Really enjoyed the lesson and learnt a lot from Ivan. I highly recommend Rude Shiga for your next ski or snowboard lessons in Shiga Kogen.

Learning to Snowboard in 3 days

Big thank you to Ivan at Ride Shiga for teaching me to snowboard in 3 days at the amazing Shiga Kogen ski resort. I was very nervous to switch from my skis to a board but I didn't need to worry in the safe hands of Ivan. He was a really supportive teacher, quickly recognising my learning preferences and switching his approach to keep me challenged but feeling safe. By day 4 I was pretty comfortable going solo on the slopes. Highly recommend booking in with Ride Shiga!

Amazing experience with these guys! Communication before the trip was great. Quick to respond to any questions we had which made planning easy. Adam was an excellent guide. He found us powder runs days after it had snowed and the local knowledge was invaluable. We would have never found that terrain on our own. He was also a super nice guy, fun to hang out with and he brought us to the best spots to eat while riding! He even dropped us at the snow monkey park so we could experience that too after riding. Thanks for making this trip an incredible experience! We will be back!
