Overview

If you’re short on time in the Lake District then this half day tour is a fantastic way to see a lot in not much time. Not only will you see six different Lakes (also called Tarns, Meres and Waters) you go over Kirkstone pass, take in the views at Castlerigg Stone Circle and visit the Village of Grasmere.

Itinerary

    Begin your morning tour of six famous lakes at your chosen pickup point.

  • Kirkstone Pass

    Travel up the Kirkstone Pass, where you will have a chance to take photographs of the stunning Lake Districtt

    10 minutes

  • Glenridding

    Stop for a quick coffee in Glenridding, nestled on the shore of the stunning lake, Ullswater.

    10 minutes

  • Ullswater (Pass By)

    Travel along the shore of this beautiful lake, surrounded on all sides by majestic fells. These tours will still be running as usual but with a temporary diversion route; the duration of your experience will remain the same with another spectacular scenery visit added elsewhere.

  • Castlerigg Stone Circle

    Pay a visit to Castlerigg Stone Circle, thought to be 4,000 years old this circle was put into place before Stone Henge!

  • Thirlmere (Pass By)

    Pass by this man made reservoir.

  • Grasmere

    Stop in the charming village of Grasmere, famous for its gingerbread and links to William Wordsworth.

    20 minutes

A beautiful day in the Lake District

We loved seeing the area with Peter Fox. He was very interesting and easy to understand. We had ample time to stop at several places. We even had plenty of time for lunch. It was easy to book.

A great way to see what the Lake District has to offer

We had a wonderful experience yesterday on this tour. We only have two days in the Lake District on our travels up to the Scottish highlands and wanted to make the most of them. We booked this tour so we could see what was around and to give me a break from driving. We weren’t disappointed. Our tour guide Peter was knowledgable and shared his experiences about teach area we drove through. The mini bus was comfortable and modern. We had plenty of comfort breaks and opportunities to stretch our legs and take pics. I got the chance to relax and take in some breathtaking scenery. You do stop in some touristy places but we didn’t really mind that at all.

The Driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed the trip with amazing scenery. The weather was lovely would definitely recommend.

Tremendous experience today. I did the tour as a solo and joined two other couples with our guide Shery. She was brilliant, such informative commentary and so knowledgeable about the history of the lakes district. The weather was spectacular but it would’ve been worth it anyway just to be able to hear about the rich history of the area. Highly recommended.
