Itinerary

This is a general tour itinerary. Please note that changes may occur due to weather conditions. Please prepare your own swimwear and towels. 1.We will pick you up from your accommodation around Shimoda city or you can meet us at Shimoda One Cafe, just a 3-minute walk from Izukyu-Shimoda Station. The tour starts as we get into the private car. Surfing at Shirahama Beach We will park at the nearest parking lot. Surfboards and wetsuits will be provided. Drive back to your accommodation or station.

Perfect Days in Shimoda

I had an incredible time exploring Shimoda with my new friend, Shun (Shimoda Local Guide). Without Shun, I would have been limited to the bus routes (very limited bus service), but with him, I got to experience Shimoda in the best way possible. He picked me up, and we spent our days surfing, fishing, hiking, eating yakiniku—perfect days. Since he grew up in Shimoda, he has a deep knowledge of the area and connection to the city and its people. Shun was ready to go with any activity I wanted to do (including any gear you might need) — I can’t wait to go back!

There is something very special about having a local guide share their knowledge and connection with a place while you are visiting. My partner and I booked a day tour with Shun who took us around Izu’s east coast and southern tip. He is a highly skilled surfer and water activity specialist. We explored breathtaking scenery, beautiful secluded white sand beaches and had a very memorable surf. His knowledge of the local area and its people was exceptional. I highly recommend Shun for water activities, surf lessons / guide for experienced surfers and tours for exploring Izu!
