Overview

With our fantastic 6-hour, skip-the-line tour you will see the very best of Rome in a day; the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Il Vittoriano, Piazza Venezia, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona as well as visiting the Vatican to see the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.  In the company of your own private guide this tour is a must if you want to really appreciate the wonders of Rome.

At the newsagent in front of the Colosseum Metro Station Exit - ground level (there is only one exit, just in front of the monument) street address is: Via dei Fori Imperiali. Your tour guide will be holding a sign with your name.

Itinerary

  • Colosseum

    Meet your guide at the Colosseum where, with privileged access, you go straight inside to begin your exploration of this magnificent Ancient Roman amphitheatre.

  • Foro Romano

    Next you go outside the Colosseum to see the Arch of Constantine and take a short walk to the Roman Forum.  The forum was the main square of Ancient Rome and the centre of political, religious and social life.   The wonderful buildings that surround the square are testament to its central role in the life of  Rome’s citizens.  You will see the 1st  century Arch of Titus, the House of the Vestal Virgins, the Temple of Saturn, the Senate House, and the white marble Arch of Septimius Severus to name a few.

  • Complesso del Vittoriano (Pass By)

    Then, a walk up the Sacred Way brings you to the Capitoline Hill and Il Vittoriano, one of Italy’s most famous monuments of more modern times.

  • Fontana di Trevi

    The tour then wends its way to the Trevi Fountain, the backdrop to many a movie scene, including Fellini’s famous La Dolce Vita.  If you wish to come back to Rome, follow legend and throw a coin in the fountain!

  • Pantheon

    Following lunch you proceed to the Government District to see the Parliament Building, the Palace of the Council of Ministers and the Column of Marcus Aurelius.  Close by is the Temple of Hadrian which was constructed in his honor by the Emperor Antoninus Pius.   A walk through some of Rome’s little alleyways brings you to the Pantheon where the Renaissance painter and architect Raphael is buried.

  • Piazza Navona

    Another short walk past the Ancient Baths of Nero brings you to Piazza Navona with Bernini’s famous Fountain of the Four Rivers.

  • Vatican City

    For the final visit of the day you cross the Tiber to the Vatican.  Here you have a tour of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel where you will see Michelangelo’s famous ceiling frescoes as well works by other Renaissance artists including Raphael.

  • Please provide the full names of all travelers when booking. Failure to present a voucher with all travelers' full names at the ticket office prior to entry may result in denied entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
  • READ CAREFULLY: Because of the growing popularity of the current pope Francis and his intense activity in organising mass events in the Vatican some areas might get closed last minute without previous notice. This has already happened this year and can happen again during you Vatican tour: the Sistine chapel and/or the Basilica of Saint Peter might not be accessible. In case of such events our tour guide will provide you with a valuable alternative focusing the tour inside the Vatican museums.
  • Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

I’m not sure why this doesn’t have more reviews as I know they are very busy. From the moment we meet our guide Fransesco, we knew it would be an amazing day. Everything was perfect. Just enough time at everything. He was so knowledgeable and just a nice guy. He truly made our day perfect. Worth every penny

Claudia was amazing! This was a perfect tour for our family. We only had two days in Rome so we need to hit all the major sites in one day. It did not disappoint. We felt like we saw it all, with not too much or too little time spent in each spot. Highly recommend.
