The old town of Ciutadella which has been the island’s capital for over 700 years makes up one protected architectural ensemble of stately homes, monumental churches and elegant boutiques. By strolling through the medieval streets and alleys, flanked by historical buildings and welcoming terraces you will taste the delightful Mediterranean atmosphere of this wonderful town.

    I will guide you through the magnificent old town centre of Ciutadella, starting at the graceful town hall which offers a lovely view of the beautiful harbour and its lovely bars and restaurants. Following the medieval network of narrow streets between historic mansions and palatial houses, we will get to see the gothic cathedral, the sumptuous Olivar house and the Sant AgustĂ­ church and convent and visit the courtyard of the Bishop's palace, the Sant Crist dels Paraires church as well as the picturesque food market.

The tour guide Alvin was very knowledgeable of the city's history, food, architecture and notable historical figures. He has a very agreeable personality and good energy. I highly recommend this tour.

Ciutadella grate small city

It is a beautiful city with nice streets and restaurants. It is good to remember about siesta because restaurants are closed at this time. Great place to walk, experience the old streets of this city and have a nice dinner. People are very friendly, which is the case may be in all of Spain. You can also buy some nice local products like shoes, cheese etc.
