Ek Balam is a spectacular archaeological site in the heart of Yucatan. It is not very famous as Chichén Itzá, therefore, you can enter without making big lines, take pictures without crowds and walk quietly without bothering vendors. But the best thing is that you can climb to the top of the pyramids and contemplate the spectacular jungle that surrounds it.

Valladolid is a "Magic Town" since 2012, and currently considered within the possible heritage sites of humanity. The city of Valladolid was founded in 1543 by Francisco de Montejo and is currently the second most important city after Mérida of Yucatán. Its greatest beauty lies in colonial buildings and houses, its parks, neighborhoods and churches that still exist in the city.

It is an underground cenote with an entrance or eye on the roof, fresh, deep, crystalline and fresh water awaits you for swimming. Hubiku is a young cenote with a hole in its vault that formed when the roots of a large tree collapsed the roof. The water depth is 27 m and its shape is almost circular with an approximate diameter of 50 m. At noon a beam of light descends through the eye of the vault to the crystalline waters of this great submerged cavern and creates a great spectacle.

Clear filterAmazing full day tour of Chichen Itza with small side tours!!
Published on Apr, 2022
Juan, Al and Raul of Ekinox Tours did an amazing job of guiding us for a full day of entertainment. Our day started from the Royalton Riviera Hideaway resort near Cancun. The Chichen Itza sacred area was unbelievable and Juan’s passion in teaching everyone it’s history was top notch! After 2 hrs at Chichen Itza, we ate delicious tacos at a local village restaurant and was entertained by local dancers with their ancient sounds and movements. From there we swam at the Ik Kil centone which was absolutely an amazing experience! Shopping at a village was our final experience of the day. All in all, an excellent day trip I highly recommend!!!!
