Overview

Ama’s Surf School Weligama Sri Lanka was originally founded to help all those surfers who felt they had plateaued or were struggling to progress. The enthusiast who loves being in the ocean but can’t work out how to take their surfing to the next level. While for some riding broken waves in the white water suits them, for most this is just the start of a longer surfing journey fuelled by the dream of gliding along the open face of waves trimming and turning in harmony with the ocean.

Amazing First Surfing Experience – and a Birthday Surprise!

I had an unforgettable time at Ama Surfing School! It was my first time surfing, and the instructors were incredibly patient, encouraging, and fun. They made me feel safe and confident, and thanks to their support, I was able to stand up on the board and catch my first waves! What made the day even more special was the surprise birthday cake they brought out for me after the lesson. I was so touched by their kindness—it truly made my day! Huge thanks to the whole team at Ama Surfing School for such a warm, memorable experience. I’d highly recommend them to anyone wanting to learn to surf in a friendly and supportive environment. I’ll definitely be back!

Great experience, we had a few lessons with different instructors. The last ones with Acchi who was very knowledgeable and ready to correct our mistakes, and who gave us advise on how to improve. All in a very laid back and fun style ✨ thanks!!

Had the best lessons here. Sami was my instructor for two lessons and he was such a great teacher. Was very patient and able to teach me the right techniques so I was surfing on my own. So happy. Highly recommend coming here. Great price too! Came here twice

An amazing surfing experience!

Me and my sister had a great day at AMA surf school. The instructors were all very helpful and approachable. We turned this into a full day at the beach with AMA giving us a sun bed to use and a surf board was available if we wanted to practice what we’d learnt. I would highly recommend this surf school to everyone as the instructors were so accommodating and even as first timers we were able to stand up on the board with their help. The complete beach day.
