After reading lots of reviews about how to travel around Sri Lanka, I decided to hire a driver for our 12 day holiday. I am so glad I found TravelnLanka on Facebook as everything was so simple from start to finish. I messaged to enquire about pricing and confirmed out dates. As promised, our driver Kaveen was waiting at the airport for us with a huge welcome smile on his face. He was an absolutely delightful man, very kind and funny, clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about his home country. We had a loose plan in place and everyday we chatted about what to do with Kaveen guiding us with suggestions, helping us plan the best holiday possible and took us on some fantastic trips and to many great restaurants. He organised several excursions for us making sure we made the best of our time in Sri Lanka and by the end of our trip, we were sad to say goodbye to him as he truly was part of our holiday. We are so grateful to Kaveen for making our holiday so magical and cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone thinking about visiting Sri Lanka.
If we say it was the best safari we have ever been on, we are right. We saw everything. We are very happy. We went on a private safari. We spent the whole day in Yala with great freedom. Everything including food and drinks was very good and reasonable. I highly recommend Yala Shenu Safari.
Very friendly and respectful guide. Comfortable car with AC. Great local knowledge and English. Attention to detail and showed informational video prior to each site. We were able to personalise the tour based on our preferences. Highly recommend, thanks so much!
I had limited time in Colombo and have not been here before, so decided a good way to see the city would be by tuk tuk, and I wasn't wrong. It included all the major sights, a delicious local Tamil lunch (the locals were queueing to eat here), and the guide was knowledgable and friendly...had time to take pix at each stop. Thanks for a memorable experience.
Naja was amazing. We were picked up from the hotel on time and reached the Yala Entrance before 6am. The first 2 hours were for spotting the leopards and Elephants. We kept looking for 1 and Naja got an information from a fellow chauffeur spotting a leopard. He drove to the spot as fast as possible and there we saw a beautiful leopard resting by the road. Post a short coffee break, we saw the king of the Yala National Park - Lucus(the leopard). I personally feel a well connected safari guide is needed and Naja seems to be one. He gets information about animals on time and is aware of the place well. We saw 2 leopards, 4-5 elephants, wild buffaloes, monkeys, monitor lizards and many birds. I would highly recommend!
I highly recommend booking this safari! We were 20 minutes later than expected due to a mixup from our taxi. Our driver Pasindu did evertything he could to do the 4h loop in 3h30 and to show us all the animals in the parc we wanted to see. We had to pleasure of seeing a toekan, crocodile, turtles, bizons, bambi's, etc. At the very end of the trip we even had the luck of seeing a leopard closeby. The safari was evertything we hoped for!
First of all Dhanuka arrived on time and greeted us with a warm Sri Lankan smile. He made us feel welcome from the beginning. We set off to the fresh produce market to buy all our ingredients and sampled lots of things along the way. We were soon informed that we would actually be cooking our meal in Dhanuka's home with his wife and family. What an honour. We were greeted by his beautiful wife and mum and introduced to his sister and her new baby girl. Then the fun began. Lots of hands on preparation and information. The dishes were delicious. We sat down to a traditional Sri Lankan lunch with a total of 10 dishes and taught how to eat it Sri Lankan style. We finished the day with dessert consisting of fresh fruits, pancakes and tea. A very special day. One that won't be forgotten. An absolute must to do.
Bennet did a great job! he was very friendly and answered all our questions. he also gave us a lot of interesting infomations about sri lanka. we felt very comfortable and we never felt obligated to do an activity or buy something that we didn‘t want! When we felt sick, bennet cared for us. its a big program to do, but if you need a break you can also skip activities.
We have all had the best family holiday in Sri Lanka. There were 11 of us in total, 6 adults & 5 kids. Youngest aged 4 & eldest aged 75. The minibus provided was very comfortable, it was air conditioned & it had plenty of space for us all with luggage. The driver Damidh was a skilled driver & we all felt safe. We had Indra as our tour guide who I highly recommend. He was very accommodating, very knowledgeable & nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely be recommending him & this tour to all my friends & family who would like to visit Sri Lanka. The people are all so friendly & welcoming and the food delicious!
This safari was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, all in a single day. KaNe, the driver who brought me from Colombo to Wilpattu National Park, and back to Colombo was professional and courteous. Upon arriving at the Park I met Jothipala Herath, the guide. Mr. Herath spent the day showing me the park and so many beautiful animals and plants. We saw lots of birds- storks, peacocks, and even a plover- to name only a few. And monkeys, water buffalo, an elephant, a gorgeous leopard, and a sloth bear. Reptiles included two species of turtles, a crocodile, and a cobra. Beautiful butterflies and plants too! As a biologist, the biodiversity within all the regions of the park was breathtaking. Mr. Herath drove the jeep like a pro, and finding the animals seemed to bring him as much joy as it did me. The day was long. With the drive from Colombo to and from the Park, the adventure lasted from 0400-almost 2200, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend this experience!
