Overview

Discover the magic of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Giants Causeway on a full-day trip from Belfast. The Giants Causeway Tour from Belfast allows visitors to enjoy some of the most beautiful Antrim coast and Causeway coast scenery our country has to offer. We visit the only UNESCO World Heritage site in Northern Ireland the famous Giants Causeway. The Giants Causeway is made up of 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, most of which are hexagonal in shape as a result of an ancient volcanic eruption. Visit attractions like Dunluce Castle, Old Bushmills distillery, and Summon your courage to cross the nail-biting Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. At the Giants Causeway climb the fascinating stones and admire the scenic splendor of the surroundings. The Antrim Coast Road is widely agreed to be one of the finest stretches of road anywhere in the world. The road hugs the coastline giving incredible seaside views, passing unspoiled beaches, and sheltering under rugged cliffs.

Itinerary

  • Causeway Coastal Route

    CAUSEWAY COAST. We make our way back to Belfast along the Antrim Coast Road where we can see fine views of Rathlin Island. The views along this coastline are spectacular, no wonder it is one of the most visited destinations in Europe!

  • Carnlough Harbour

    Our first stop of the day takes us into the picturesque fishing village of Carnlough for a quick comfort break. Series six of Game of Thrones saw Carnlough harbor feature for the first time. This harbor although built in the nineteenth century during the famine years still retains an old-world charm, which meant that it didn’t seem out of place when it first appeared in Game of Thrones.

  • Carrick A Rede Rope Bridge

    One of the most visited places in Northern Ireland amazing Carrick-a-Rede Rope bridge where you can cross a bridge that spans a chasm over 75ft in height. (Please note Crossing the Rope bridge will depend on the time you have on shore. The Carrick-A-Rede Rope bridge may sometimes be closed due to weather conditions or repairs. There will be a 1-mile walk from the car park to the Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge if you have mobility issues, have small children, or use a stroller that can't handle unpaved pathways. (If you wish to cross the bridge you will need to pre-book your ticket) Please let us know before purchasing your tickets and we will advise of an approx. time of arrival. if you do not wish to cross, we can stop at the viewing point for photos.

    BALLINTOY HARBOUR. (The Iron Islands). Ballintoy harbour was the setting for Theon’s return to the Iron Islands as well as some of the areas around Dragonstone. It was here that Theon first met his sister Yara, was baptised in the name of the Drowned God.

    A Beautiful scenic beach at the very tip of Ireland and the closest country from here would be Iceland which is 800 miles away.

    You will visit the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Northern Ireland. Stop at the Giant’s Causeway to enjoy around 1 hour exploring the 40,000 interlocking hexagonal stone columns on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

    Old Bushmills Distillery: Bushmills Whiskey Distillery has been creating beautiful ‘water of life ‘since 1608 making this the oldest working distillery in Ireland. Visit the tasting room for sampling.

    We continue a wonderful day with a photo stop at the ruins of Dunluce Castle.

  • The Dark Hedges

    One of the most popular natural phenomena in Northern Ireland, the Dark Hedges were used as a set for the hit TV series Game of Thrones. It was the famous King’s Road in Season 2. The hedges were planted by the Stuart family in the eighteenth century. It was intended to impress visitors as they approached the entrance to their home, Gracehill House. Two centuries later, the trees remain a magnificent sight and have become known as the Dark Hedges.

Great day out on the coast

We had a great day out with Murat. He picked up the 4 of us from our Airbnb and took us on the Antrim coastal route to the Giants Causeway. We stopped in a couple of small towns and viewing spots along the way. We saw dolphins swimming off the shore! The views were beautiful and Murat was a great guide, discussing history, nature, folklore, etc. Definitely recommend!

This was a magical day. Murat was the perfect guide. Knowledgeable about the area and very personable. Well worth the cost even though we ended up with only 3 of us. So much better than the large bus tours! We were able to choose our itinerary and how long we wanted to spend at each place.
