Overview

In this 3 hour walking tour you will see all the highlights of Milan. A guided tour through the Majestic Duomo Cathedral, icon of the city. The cathedral is a wonderful exampe of gothic architecture, but it has been built over six centuries, so you will be impressed by the different overlapping styles, which still give a unified sense to the whole structure. You will cross the beautiful Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the first prototype of the modern shops mall, that connects Piazza Duomo with Piazza della Scala. This last will be the next stop of your tour, you will visit La Scala theater, one of the most famous Opera House in the world. You will walk down the charming Brera district, where you will see the typical houses with balconies full of plants and flowers. The tour continues to the Sforza Castle courtyards and listen your guide telling about the many years Leonardo Da Vinci spent at this court. After this tour you will be able to check many boxes on your to-do list in Milan!

It was built in the Gothic style and took almost six centuries to complete. Learn about its art and architecture as you stroll leisurely with your guide. Milan is an ancient city with origins in the 6th Century B.C. For approximately 200 years, it was the seat of the Roman Empire.

    You’ll enjoy a visit to one of the first shopping malls in the world, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. This 19th Century arcade boasts two glass-vaulted arcades and a glass dome, in the style of the period. Browse in the shops, or quench your thirst in one of the many cafés or bars, as the 19th Century poets, artists and men of letters did in their day.

    Another noteworthy destination is the world-famous Teatro alla Scala, the Opera House of Milan. Designed by Giuseppe Piermarini, it opened in 1778, having been built on the ruins of a former theater. Travelers from all over the world have enjoyed spectacular operas performed on these premises.

Easy walk, great information!

This was just as many reviews have said - easy walk and great pace. Ana was very knowledgeable and flipped our schedule around to accommodate the limiting hours at the theater that day. We may have been able to do the building tours on our own, but she seemed to share more history and information than I expected! We really enjoyed this tour.

La Scala comes alive!

It was a real treat to see inside La Scala theater. Silvia made the experience come alive for us . Silvia was so incredibly knowledgeable about the theater, the composers, the performers and the history of the area. We loved the whole tour with her.
