Overview

The city has so many faces. Founded in 129. B.C. as a Roman settlement, PoreÄ (lat. Parentium) has come a long way. A picturesque town, whose identity was shaped through thousands of years. After the fall of Rome, PoreÄ came under the rule of numerous kingdoms and empires. Venetian, Austrian, Italian, Yugoslavian, and many other administrations defined the urban identity of the city. In particular, the 6th century Euphrasian Basilica is a perfect example of that, as it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. You should visit PoreÄ while in Istria, Croatia. But doing it from a sea kayak makes it an unforgettable experience.While on our Sunset Sea Kayaking Tour around you will paddle through the history of PoreÄ. Discover the perks of the city. Great experience and great value. A Porec must do.

What a superb activity! We were greeted by Ilija, who is one of the business owners and a Porec local, and he clearly take great pride in looking after his customers. The tour was done at perfect pace so that no one was left behind and there were plenty of breaks to admire the views. A stop off on a lovely island beach complete with snacks and drinks, before heading out into the Adriatic Sea for the most beautiful sunset, before arriving back into Porec for 9pm for a drink at the local bar with Ilija. A perfect evening that was the highlight of our week in Istria.

Llija is a fantastic tour host providing a fun and relaxing atmosphere. We took the boat out around the city seeing PoreÄ from a whole new angle. After a brief stop on the beach around the bay for some snacks we headed out around some beautiful islands, heading towards the back of St Nicholas Island as the sun set. Make sure to pack shoes you don't mind getting wet and some change of clothes as this is an all in experience of the beautiful crystal clear waters around Istria.

Very much enjoyed this trip. The Adriatic is perfect for kayaking and the amazing environment of Porec makes it the perfect combination. A must do when you are in the area!
