Overview

Speed through the water from Maui to the Molokini Crater for a small-group snorkeling adventure where the underwater visibility often exceeds 180 feet (55 meters)! Spend your morning snorkeling on the wildlife-rich reef off the crater, where fish, rays and other wildlife call home. Next, venture to 'Turtle Town' to swim with the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle! In addition to snorkeling, your five-hour experience includes hot cinnamon rolls and fruit for breakfast breakfast, deli lunch and fabulous Hawaiian views – what better way to spend a day?

You can also put in Kihei Boat Ramp in Google Maps. Parking is free and you park at one of the two parking lots above the lot where the boats/trailers are. Look for the big red boat for check-in. Please make sure to arrive 30 minutes prior to departure - show up at 6:30AM, departure at 7.

Itinerary

  • Molokini Crater

    Skip over the waves on a comfortable and speedy military-inspired, eco-friendly raft to the Molokini Crater, where you will snorkel with tropical fish, rays and various other wildlife. As the first boat to arrive at the crater, the waters will be uncrowded. Here, you'll also enjoy a delicious continental breakfast. Water visibility at this prime diving and snorkeling spot often reaches 180 feet (55 meters)! If you need a break, relax on the boat’s comfy pontoons and soak up the sun. After snorkeling in the crater, head to the backside of Molokini Crater, a place many people rarely see, for another snorkeling experience.

  • Keawakapu Beach (Pass By)

    On your way to your final snorkeling destination, 'Turtle Town,' hug the Maui coastline and view the island’s most recent lava flow on the way to beautiful La Perouse Bay. The bay is a natural habitat for the Hawaiian spinner dolphin, so keep a look out and get your camera ready!

  • Redline Rafting

    The Kihei Boat Ramp is where we depart from and return to. We are one of the first boats to Molokini because we can get there faster than most boats so you will have plenty of pristine time to snorkel.

    At 'Turtle Town,' jump in the water and swim with the friendly Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles! After snorkeling with the turtles, refuel with a deli lunch before heading back to Maui.

Unforgettable experience

Our experience with Redline Rafting was absolutely incredible! We went on their snorkeling trip to Molokini Crater in late January, and it exceeded all of our expectations. On the way out, we were lucky enough to see whales, which was such an amazing bonus. The snorkeling itself was unforgettable—we visited four different spots, each offering something unique. At Molokini Crater, the water was crystal clear, and we saw so many beautiful fish. One of the highlights for me was spotting an octopus, which was such a rare and exciting treat! The crew was fantastic—knowledgeable, fun, and so attentive to everyone’s needs. They made the entire trip feel safe and enjoyable, even for those who were newer to snorkeling. This is a must-do activity in Maui. Between the stunning marine life, the adventure of being out on the water, and the chance to see whales up close, it was hands down one of the best parts of our trip. Highly recommend Redline Rafting to anyone looking for a memorable snorkeling adventure!

Great snorkeling and guides

Check in was confusing with multiple tour groups heading out and darkness outside in the early morning hour, but once we were boarded on Red Line Rafting, all was good! Guides were nice, informative, the raft was great (but no toilet), the food was as you would expect. They took us to 4 snorkel locations which were amazing, and we saw many whales.

We had a wonderful boat ride with 2 great guides. Snorkeling off the front and back side of Molokini was epic and then the snorkel at La Perouse and also for the turtles was sweet The boat ride alone was great, and we ended the day with a sweet whale experience. Highly recommend this boat experience. Great times with aloha

It was a perfect day with four beautiful stops and lots of great snorkeling! The crew was fantastic and took amazing care of us all. We saw dolphins, whales, turtles and lots of fish. So awesome!!!!
