Our tour was to Hurulu Eco Park as that’s where the elephants were at the time. While entrance fee was less than what we paid for Minneriya, we had a full afternoon with plenty of time at the end for sunset overlook.
We saw close to 50 elephants at different places, including a 3-day old baby being fully protected by its mother and other females. Our guide worked hard to get us good views and at one point found a spot where we were the only jeep that happened upon a couple elephants and could enjoy watching with only the natural sounds of the animals and birds.
All in all, a memorable experience to see so many - from a large, tucked bull to the young new-born.
