    Late afternoon, Your Luxor Local guide will pick you up from your Place in Luxor and transfer to the Nile side, where your Egyptian traditional Felucca is waiting for you journey. Board your Felucca and relax on the soft cushions. Experience the peace and tranquility of the Nile water that has been the lifeblood of Egypt since Pharaonic times.

    Enjoy the Felucca gently glide down the river, watch the real Egyptian life pass by and enjoy the fantastic scenes that have not changed in millennia, the children playing in the water, the camels and donkeys, the farmers going about their work in the same ways they have done for centuries, and admire the water buffalo and a wide variety of birds. The felucca will sail to the Banana Island "an Island covered with banana plantations" the boat captain will berth the felucca off the island and take you on a short exploratory tour of the island, where you’ll be offered a refreshing cup of traditional Egyptian tea and some of the sweetest, most delicious bananas you have ever tasted. Return sailing and watch the sun sets slowly over Luxor West Bank, take in the scenes of life around you as you sail along the Nile, back to the Nile side and then transfer to your hotel in Luxor.

  • The Felucca is scheduled to start about 15.00 in winter & about 17.30 in summer.
  • Departure time may vary depending on sun set time
  • Your tour manager will tell you the exact pick up time two days prior
  • If the wind is not so good to sail the Felucca then a motorized boat will be placed to pull the Traditional Felucca. “Dhow”.

Excellent service from start to finish,we had boat to ourselves crew father and his 2 sons we had such a giggle with the lads even let me sail boat down the Nile, nothing was to much for them we asked questions on Egyptian life so knowledgeable even told us about their lifes and struggles we tipped the crew at end and you would have thought I had given them the world highly recommend this trip

Took a Felucca ride for the sunset at Luxor. Great experience. It was very cheap (~$15) for an hour ride for a private Felucca for my family. They helped take tons of pictures for us as well.

I spent 3 days in Luxor and schedule this felucca ride to experience the local sites from the Nile perspective. My guide met me at my hotel that was just across the street from where the boat was moored. He and his boat captain were very professional, telling me many things about the Nile and the city along the journey. As a single female traveler, I never felt uncomfortable at any time and very much enjoyed seeing the banana farm. Very relaxing ending to this wonderful trip!

We enjoyed a brilliant evening cruise on the Nile in a felucca; one of the highlights of our holiday. Our tour guide, Hesham Hamd Mohamed, was superb. Hesham was both friendly and knowledgable, as were the two crew members onboard. The trip included a stop at Banana Island where we enjoyed tasting the sweet bananas. Seeing the sun set over the Nile was exceptionally memorable too.
