We enjoyed an excellent day visiting Krka National Park with a wonderful and solicitous driver and guide Mirko. Our excursion was a day trip from our cruise ship, docked in Sibenik Croatia. Mirko was very knowledgeable about the natural wonders in the park. We began with a short walk down the river to view a series of beautiful crystal clear cascades. Then we took a loop hike on an elevated boardwalk that allows you to see many small waterfalls and a beautiful forest, along with aquatic birds, fish, and a surprise sighting of an out of season snake. The grand finale was a large wide waterfall that flows into a crystal pool. Then we stopped for a little lunch, and then Mirko escorted us to a small excursion boat that motors down to the next town. While we were doing that, he hiked back to the car and drove around to meet us at the end. My husband walks slowly, and Mirko was extremely helpful to him in completing the hike. He actually spent close to the full day with us rather than just a half-day. It was just an excellent experience all the way around, and I would highly recommend it rather than trying to do a group visit to this location.
