Overview

Search for whales, sea otters, Steller sea lions, Dall’s porpoises, harbor seals, bald eagles, puffins, and many other types of marine birds as you cruise the the protected waters of Resurrection Bay on this 4 hour cruise. Rather than following a set route, this cruise travels to the best whale and wildlife viewing areas that day based on reports from other vessels. The experienced captains will explore the area’s wildlife hot spots to maximize your chances of viewing whales and other wildlife. You'll experience up-close encounters with wildlife as the ship cruises by massive bird rookeries and sea lion colonies, stopping along the route to view passing whales and otters.

Major Marine Tours Made Our Trip!

We did a half-day cruise with Major Marine Tours, and it was truly worth it! Not only did we spot an abundance of wildlife but the crew was fantastic, the chili was delightful, the cocktails were spot on (don't miss the Hot Otter), and the boat (Skana) was immaculate. Our day on the water treated us to sightings of Dall’s porpoises, Orca whales (probably nearly a dozen!), sea lions, harbor seals, Bald eagles, mountain goats, and a very entertaining sea otter. With a couple of side trips to secluded inlets, it will be hard to top this experience anytime soon.

Kenai fyord tour was awesome

We went on a tour on Oct. 8 2024. The weather was crystal clear skys with no wind and small waves. We saw porpoises, orca, balled eagles, sea lions, seals, mountain goats, and glaciers. We even got to your Spire Cove. The ship was practically brand new and the crew was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and welcoming. It could not have been a better day. I highly recommend Major Marine Tours.

Wildlife Wonders

We took Major Marine Tours via the Skana to the Kenai Fjord National Park. The service was excellent, the pilot was safe and expert. She was very informative and helpful as she described the wildlife along the four hour tour. My family had a wonderful time and hope to take the same tour again soon.
