There is something thrilling about walking into a real, wild jungle. You are surrounded by the sound of birds, insects, and often the trumpets of large wild animals. It speaks to your soul.
Spending the night in a jungle can be another thing, but thankfully the towers available in Chitwan National Park are amazing. Running water, flush toilets, comfortable beds, and fantastic views all lend to a comfortable experience. Watching the sun set and hearing the night creatures take over from the seclusion of your tower room is fantastic. Our guide Hemantha kept us informed of what we were hearing, pointed out wildlife along the shores of the river as they came down to drink, and educated us on life in the jungle. It was really like being part of a National Geographic documentary. Beautiful, informative, and exciting.
