Wonderful experience with excellent guide, Santos. Due to very little to no rainfall in the last year, the canyon was dry except for at or near the spring at the top. The scenery is spectacular in the canyon, including views back down to the Sea of Cortez and islands. We were glad we started in the early morning for great light for photos and cool temperatures. The hike is challenging but possible for fit people. Some sections require scrambling on steep rock faces and over boulders, as well as using fixed ropes or cables to pull yourself up. Santos was a huge help with navigating this difficult route and inspiring confidence. He also shared a wealth of knowledge about the local flora and fauna. Highly recommend!
